All-Star team special invitation A special announcement was also made during the awards dinner which will again further enhance everything that is happening in basketball here on the Gold Coast. In May 2011 the ISL men’s all-star team (made up of the top 10 players as voted by the team owners and coaches as well as the winning men’s coach Joel McInnis) will fly to Surabaya, Indonesia to compete in a tri-series. The opponents for the ISL All-Stars will be the Indonesian NBL (professional league) all-star team as well as the Malaysian NBL (professional league) all- star team. This is a major achievement for the Gold Coast to be given a personal invitation to compete in this event against two up and coming professional league all-star teams. It is hoped that this will become an annual event which can be offered to the best players in the ISL men’s competition each and every year.

Referee Of The Month The Green Shirt Referee of the Month for November is Daniel Collins.

Daniel has now qualified to be a Level O Referee and has graduated to a Black and White Referee Shirt. Daniel was chosen for the award because of the way he listens to and implements the instruction of his referee supervisors.

We would like to say a big "Thank you" to all our referees in all our competitions for their efforts this year, especially the great standard of our referees at the recent BQ carnival rounds on the Gold Coast.

Due to our Saturday morning program we have been able to take on approximately 20 new green shirt referee's, which has given them at least 2 games every week under supervision which is fast tracking them through.

We will be running a Level 0 for our current green shirt trailers in February 2011. We are still taking names for the next intake of green shirt trail referee's and numbers are limited. If you are interested in becoming a referee please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
