She has played netball for Australia, is a well known face in the media and guides our elite Australian cricketers as National Transition and Welfare Manager for the Australian Cricketer’s Association. In 2015, Carla capped off a successful career that spanned two continents and over a decade of playing netball at an elite level. Born and bred in South Australia, Carla moved away from home to accept a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport at the age of 20. Dziwoki went on to play for the Queensland Firebirds in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy (premier Australian Netball League at the time). Carla went on to play in the UK for three seasons (twice for Team Northumbria, once for Leeds Carnegie) before returning to the Queensland Firebirds before having stints with NSW Swifts and the Melbourne Vixens. After shifting her focus away from the court, Carla starred on Channel Nine’s high- rating series ‘The Block‘ in 2018 with former teammate and netball champion, Bianca Chatfield. Carla was the design lead behind the pair’s stunning penthouse conversion, with judges Neale Whitaker, Darren Palmer and Shaynna Blaze describing her style as ‘sophisticated’, ‘luxurious’, and ‘flawless’. Carla’s dedication to health and fitness and her genuine interest in fashion and beauty means her followers on social media aren’t there just because she was a contestant on their favourite show, but for her personal aspirational qualities. SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA 12 & U and 15 & U NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY The championships had their origins in the Australian State Schools' Basketball Association developed originally for primary schools and played predominately on grass. Interstate carnivals commenced in 1923 and continued in 1924 when a number of exchanges between individual states occurred. In 1924 visiting teachers from Victoria, Queensland and South Australia to New South Wales made exhaustive inquiries into the question of girls’ games with the view to inaugurating interstate contests. In 1925 South Australia hosted New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland in both a junior and senior competition, one of the games attracted over 2000 spectators. South Australia was victorious in the junior section and South Australia and Victoria both finished in first place in the senior. This competition continued in 1926 in New South Wales and 1927 in Victoria. With the introduction of a perpetual trophy the first officially recognised Australian State Schoolgirls Basketball (Netball) Championship was played at the Practising School, Brisbane in 1928. The final, on the afternoon of the August 22nd, was before a large crowd. Victoria convincingly beat NSW 23 goals to 4 goals. Mr John Donald Howie donated the perpetual trophy following the win of Victoria. Mr Howie was a Victorian Councillor from 1922 – 1932 and Mayor of Camberwell in 1927 and 1928. Australian schoolgirls tournaments were organised to combine both a netball competition and an educational tour, When girls weren’t playing they attended lessons at the local school or made educational day trips. In Brisbane the girls visited Toowoomba, the Olympic Tyre and Rubber Works in Geebung and took a trip to the South Coast of Queensland.

The association was created as a voice for Australia’s leading female athletes to communicate with the governing body Netball Australia. The ANPA won landmark decisions against Netball Australia on areas of restraint of trade and female rights. By 2004, the association was unable to attract sufficient funds to continue such work and thus began discussions with AWU following an approach to ANPA by AWU National Secretary Bill Shorten.

PARTNERSHIPS “We exist to enrich our community through the sport of netball.” Who we are... Frankston & District Netball Association (FDNA) is a highly respected association member of Netball Victoria, offering both indoor and outdoor facilities to its members and participants. Since its formation in 1966, FDNA has continued to grow into an integral part of the social fabric of the City of Frankston. From early beginnings of less than 100 players to more than 4,000 members and participants in 2018, FDNA is embracing all forms of the game in an ever-changing socio-sport landscape. FDNA caters for a range of player standards, age and formats. These include; highly competitive, social, mixed, walking netball and Net Set Go. FDNA hosts 12 clubs in its Saturday Winter outdoor competition with approximately 200 teams participating, offering an excellent standard of competition which continues to prosper in the region. In addition to the outdoor competition, FDNA hosts nightly competitions in the indoor stadium (excluding Saturday). FDNA provides pathway access for it’s region through its Victorian Netball League Club, The Peninsula Waves. Jubilee Park Stadium Development... Victoria consists of 22 netball regions. The Two Bays The Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium Development will change the landscape for women’s sport in our region. Detailing of region encompasses Frankston along with our regional plans in collaboration with the Jubilee Park precinct partners; Frankston Peninsula Cricket, Frankston YCW Football Netball partner associations including; Baxter Indoor NA, Casey NA, Club and Frankston RSL, together with Frankston City Council has been underway since July 2016. Independent Director – TTNL Limited (known as the ANZ Championship) About the ANZ Championship The ANZ Championship was launched in 2008 as a successor to the Commonwealth Bank Trophy in Australia and the National Bank Cup in New Zealand. The competition is administered by TTNL Limited, a company incorporated in New Zealand, and is a joint venture between the netball governing bodies of both countries. The ANZ Championship is the premier netball league in Australia and New Zealand. It is contested by ten teams, five from Australia and five from New Zealand under guidance from their respective National Associations. The competition is currently held annually between April and July, comprising 69 matches played over 17 weeks including the finals series The ANZ Championship has seen netball become a semi-professional sport in both countries, with increased media and spectators. Over 220,000 people attended games in 2013 and over 8 million watched the championship on television either live or on highlights. ANZ Championship has a robust sponsorship model with the ANZ Bank being the naming rights sponsor of the competition since its inaugural season. This is supported by Pay TV, with Sky Sports being the Official Broadcaster in New Zealand since its inaugural year and since 2013 in Australia by Fox Sports with SBS providing a Free to Air component. Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne Margaret Court Arena is the third largest venue for Australian open. The Margaret Court Arena is the third and latest addition to the Melbourne Park. It is the third largest venue for the Australian Open, after the Rod Laver Arena and the Hisense Arena. It is famous for its retractable roof that opens and closes in 5 minutes- the fastest retractable roof in the world. Just before the 2003 Australian Open, the Margaret Court Arena was renamed after the famous Australian woman player, Margaret Court. Prior to this it was called ‘Show Court One’. Please take a look at the seating plan before booking your seats for the Australian Open. A 700 million dollar project was undertaken in 2010- the Melbourne Park masterplan- and the renovation of the MCA was carried out under this project. The court was then transformed into a multi purpose venue for sporting and entertainment events alike. Seating capacity too increased from 6000 to 7500. Entertainment at Margaret Court Arena : Margaret Court Arena with its intimate seat setting and variable seating capacity that can range from 5000 to 8000, has become hot favorite among musicians and music enthusiasts alike, as a venue for live music. Australian hip hop pioneers Hilltop Hoods, performed at the MCA as a part of their Cosby Sweater Tour. Sports at Margaret Court Arena: Tennis: Margaret Court Arena is known to offer one of the best tennis viewing experiences to spectators. When the Margaret Court Arena opens its grounds to Australian Open this year, the Melbourne Park will become the only Grand Slam Tennis venue to have three stadiums with retractable roofs.
