Proposed 50mph speed limit

Measham Road Parish of Packington Road, Ashby Road/ Gallows Lane Parish of Measham, Measham Road Parish of Ashby de la Zouch

Five Lanes end is where Gallows lane, Willesley Woodside and Packington Road join Ashby Road, Measham and Measham Road, Ashby all in close proximity to each other.

Due to the number of accidents on the approaches to this junction it is proposed that on Ashby Road, Measham and Measham Road,e Ashby th existing national speed limit is reduced to 50mph. This will effectively join the 50mph speed limits as you approach Measham and Ashby giving a continuous speed limit of 50mph between Ashby and Measham.

On Gallows Lane it is proposed that a section of the road that is currently national speed limit is made 50mph as you approach the junction. On Measham Road, Packington the proposal is to make the length of road from the current 30mph terminal signs to Five Lanes End all 50mph.

The proposals are shown in plan TM4441/1/2016 and are being made in the interests of road safety.
