E-Sussex Broadband Current Build Rollout Where and When in East e-Sussex Broadband Current Build Rollout Where and When in East Sussex, as at 31/3/2019 ➢ The following table sets out the outline plan for proposed rollout of faster broadband under the e-Sussex Project (based on detail available March 2019). Please note that this is high level information and we do not have accurate data at all postcode or premises level. ➢ We are only able to publish information about future rollout in very broad timescales. This is because Ofcom requires BT Openreach to advise Internet Service Providers (ISPs) at the same time when structures go live and for us to give advance information which might enable ISPs to guess at live dates would be breaching those rules. At various points throughout the contract BT confirms its best forward view for deployment in the next quarter, and we are able to publish information at that point (staying strictly to only a quarter ahead). BT confirms the next phase of deployment one month after the end of every quarter. Please be aware that things very often change at short notice and BT may change plans at any time to ensure that delivery remains on track. For this reason, all information is indicative only and is subject to change. Rollout happens in concurrent quarters (starting September 2016) with planning, surveying, and infrastructure build continuing in each phase shown below. Delivery timeframes are not guaranteed and forecast dates may move forwards as well as backwards. ➢ There is a joint BT/ESCC project team in place who work closely together to ensure delivery of the contract ➢ Information below is based on exchange areas. Exchanges normally take the name of the town in which they are located. In rural areas these exchanges usually provide services, not only to the town in which they are located, but also to nearby villages. In order for them to properly reflect the interests and identity of the community, we expect our district councillors to have a detailed knowledge of and affinity to the ward they represent, but the proposed ward is geographically so large that will be impossible for them to do so effectively. It is also divided between the economically larger and more densely populated area centred on Horam to the West and the collection of more sparsely populated and very rural villages in the East, mainly within the existing Warbleton Parish area. These two communities are different and inevitably face different issues and have different priorities. The likely result of the Commission's recommendation being implemented is that the two councillors will be forced into some sort of informal arrangement to divide the ward, which could not be formally recognised or publicised. Surely it is a far better solution to establish two separate one member wards as proposed by WDC, particularly as they seem to have adequately addressed the Commission's concern over the number of electors each councillor should represent.

We didn’t win all the battles, but we have won our fair share. My background is principally military; I was a career soldier and locally-based businessman. I know this area extremely well and it is home to all my close family.
