By Laura Perwitz After months of planning, building and re- hearsals, the big weekend has finally ar- rived! The show dates for The Odd Couple are here! It's showtime! The Odd Couple Fri. & Sat. Oct. 21-22 7:30 pm Tickets $8/$7 for senior citizens and children under 12 Rehearsals are getting longer, and the scenes are even funnier. More and more props are being used, and the set looks amaz- ing. The actors and actresses of the show have faced many challenges through rehears- als, but were able to beat them. On Friday, October 15 at the Red Raider pep rally, GRB showed Tim just how appreciated and loved he really was. As members of the football team were welcomed by his father, Coach Mike Conners, the faculty, students, and staff greeted Tim with a standing ovation unlike anything the new turf field has ever witnessed. As tears filled the eyes of people everywhere in the stands, students howled and cheered for Tim and the feeling was so warm and filled with joy, I found myself clapping harder than ever. Although I had never met Tim before, his story inspired me and I found myself not feeling sorry for him, but proud of all he has accomplished. I was glad to see that Tim had all of this support and love sur- rounding him. Students said, “it looked so good to see Tim out there on the field with his teammates! It’s good to see him smile.” An- other student said that, “It was so hard not to cry, but I just couldn’t help it, he is a hero!” Tim himself said, “it felt so good! I didn’t know it was a standing ovation until after, but I still felt great.” As I was talking with Tim, I could see that despite the months of treat- ment and struggle, he has a warm heart. The conversation just flowed, especially after he gave me one of his homemade, “Blondie Brown- ies,” as he is quite the baker!
