• 734 school establishments engaged (638 target) • 304 new school establishments (255 target) • 85,776 pupils engaged (46,400 target) • 4,825 teachers upskilled (1,282 target) • 3,677 parents engaged (2,900 target) • 9,026 registrations onto Find an apprenticeship website (*10,875 target) • 1,202 student applications (1,088 target) ASK in the North 2017/18

• Strong feedback from all parties who accessed ASK services (teachers/pupils/parents) • Local apprenticeships signposted to pupils and help with applications • Good achievement of targets • Positive promotion of apprenticeships with training provider network (ASK teams)

ASK services will support schools to achieve: • Links to the Careers Strategy • Evidence towards Gatsby Benchmark 7 • Meeting schools statutory obligations under Baker Claus to allow training providers access to pupils to promote apprenticeships • DfE Guidance – From September 2018 all school establishments must publish information about the schools careers programme to pupils year 8-13. Also have a designated career lead • Ofsted new School Inspection Handbook (Sept 18) has more reference to impartial careers guidance with clear grading markers • Compliments CEC Compass tool We can offer you free ASK programme services in schools/colleges which links to all of the above.
