Traffic Announcement TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATES ON TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS FOR MRT CONSTRUCTION ALONG JALAN DAMANSARA, PERSIARAN SURIAN, JALAN SUNGAI BULOH AND SPRINT HIGHWAY 30 JANUARY 2015 1. CONTINUATION OF SHORT-TERM NIGHT CONTRA-FLOW ALONG JALAN SUNGAI BULOH IN FRONT OF MING MING NURSERY (SUBANG-BOUND) Date 1 February 2015 – 28 February 2015 Time 11.00pm – 6.00am Duration 28 days Reason To facilitate the launching of Segmental Box Girder (SBG) crossing Jalan Sungai Buloh in front of Ming Ming Nursery A continuation of short-term night contra-flow traffic will be implemented at Jalan Sungai Buloh (Subang-bound) in front of Ming Ming Nursery from 1 February 2015 to 28 February 2015, between 11.00pm and 6.00am daily. Motorists from Kuala Selangor, Kepong and Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh heading to Subang will be diverted to the opposite lane. One traffic lane will be made available for each direction (Subang and Kuala Selangor-bound) starting from JG Home Gallery showroom to traffic light Jalan Welfare. Motorist going to Pusat Latihan Perhutanan Sungai Buloh may still enter through the existing junction. Residents of Pusat Latihan Perhutanan heading to Subang will be directed by a flagman to take the U-turn at the Jalan Welfare traffic light junction. Residents heading to Kuala Selangor will be diverted by a flagman to their corresponding lane after the traffic light junction. TWO MEDIUM-TERM NIGHT ROAD CLOSURES IMPLEMENTED ALONG PERSIARAN SURIAN (KOTA DAMANSARA-BOUND & LDP HIGHWAY-BOUND) Date 1 February 2015 – 31 March 2015 Time 12 midnight to 6:00am Duration 59 nights Reason To facilitate segmental launching, concreting and dismantling of peri-formwork and temporary steel truss There will be two medium-term night road closures implemented along Persiaran Surian in front of Pelangi Damansara (Kota Damansara-bound), Mutiara Homes (LDP Highway-bound), and at the underpass (KD-bound). Please note that these 2 closures will not be done simultaneously at the same time. Closure A (1 February 2015 – 28 February 2015) Continuation of closure for 500m stretch in front of Pelangi Damansara to the traffic light junction at Jalan PJU 3/31 along Persiaran Surian (shaded in RED). The following diversions will take place: Motorists from LDP Highway (Kota Damansara-bound) wanting to turn into PJU 3/31 Will be diverted on to the temporary contra-flow lane to turn into Jalan PJU 3/22 next to the Shell station where they will be able to use Jalan PJU 3/29 to access Palm Spring Condo and the Sunway Damansara Technology Park. (see GREEN arrow) Motorists from Jalan PJU 3/31 wanting to turn right towards Kota Damansara Will turn left and drive 1 km to make a U-turn at Mutiara Damansara above the Surian Underpass to head back towards Kota Damansara. (see PURPLE arrow) Traffic police will be deployed to assist during times of heavy traffic before closure and reopening of roads. MAP 2; CLOSURE A: CONTINUATION OF CLOSURE FOR 500M STRETCH IN FRONT OF PELANGI DAMANSARA TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT JUNCTION AT JALAN PJU 3/31 Page 2 of 11 Closure B (1 February 2015 – 31 March 2015): Continuation of full road closure for a stretch of 360m from Surian Condo until the junction of Jalan PJU 7/1 near Mutiara Damansara Residences (LDP Highway-bound) and closure of Surian Underpass (Sungai Buloh-bound)(in Red stripes). The following diversions will take place: Motorists from Sungai Buloh (on Persiaran Surian) heading to Jalan PJU 7/1 Motorists will be diverted to the Surian Underpass to exit onto the LDP Highway, take a left turn to Jalan PJU 8/1 and then left into Jalan PJU 7/1 to go to Mutiara Damansara. (see PURPLE arrow) Motorists from LDP Highway turning into Persiaran Surian wanting to use the Surian Underpass Motorists will be diverted to use the traffic lanes beside the Surian Underpass. (see GREEN arrow) Motorists on PJU 7/1 exiting into Persiaran Surian will not be affected. MAP 2; CLOSURE B: CONTINUATION OF FULL ROAD CLOSURE FOR A STRETCH OF 360M FROM SURIAN CONDO UNTIL THE JUNCTION OF JALAN PJU 7/1 NEAR MUTIARA DAMANSARA RESIDENCES (LDP HIGHWAY-BOUND) AND CLOSURE OF SURIAN UNDERPASS (SUNGAI BULOH-BOUND) 3. CONTINUATION OF LONG-TERM LANE CLOSURE ALONG JALAN DAMANSARA Date 1 February 2015 – 30 June 2015 Time 24 hours Duration 5 months Reason To facilitate construction of station concourse slab There will be a continuation of two long-term lane closures implemented along Jalan Damansara next to Entrance B of the future TTDI MRT Station which also known as the former Caltex Station (SPRINT Highway-bound) and at the slip road turning into Jalan SS20/10 leading to Menara Glomac TTDI. Page 3 of 11 Closure A (1 February 2015 – 30 June 2015) Closure of 200m stretch of road from the roundabout in front of Plaza TTDI to exit into Jalan Damansara (as indicated in RED). This closure is required to facilitate construction of station concourse slab.The following diversion will take place: ( ) Motorists from TTDI Plaza or Brunsfield wanting to exit to Jalan Damansara will be diverted to use Jalan Wan Kadir 3 or Jalan Wan Kadir. Motorists along Jalan Damansara wanting to turn left into access road next to Entrance B (Former Caltex) will not be affected. Closure B (4 February 2015 to 28 February 2015) A 30m single lane closure at the slip road turning into Jalan SS 20/10 leading to Menara Glomac TTDI (as indicated in RED STRIPES) This closure stretch is needed for sewerage works to facilitate MRT construction. Motorists will still have one lane available to access this road. MAP 3: CONTINUATION OF LONG-TERM LANE CLOSURE ALONG JALAN DAMANSARA Page 4 of 11 4. CONTINUATION OF LANE CLOSURE NEAR FORMER BHP PETROL STATION, SECTION 16 (PJ-BOUND) Date 1 February 2015 – 15 February 2015 Time Closure A: 10:00am to 4:00pm Closure B: 10:00pm to 6:00am Duration 15 days Reason To facilitate pier work and road work A continuation of lane closure near former BHP Petrol Station, Section 16 will be done in stages: Closure A (1 February 2015 until 15 February 2015, between 10:00am to 4:00pm): There will be a one (1) lane closure near the former BHP Petrol Station. During this closure one (1) lane will be made available to motorists from KL heading towards Petaling Jaya. MAP 4; CLOSURE A: CONTINUATION OF LANE CLOSURE NEAR FORMER BHP PETROL STATION, SECTION 16 (PJ-BOUND) Page 5 of 11 Closure B (1 February 2015 until 15 February 2015, between 10:00pm to 6:00am): Two (2) lanes near former BHP Petrol Station will be closed. During this closure, motorists from KL on SPRINT Highway heading towards Petaling Jaya will be diverted to Jalan 16/11, Petaling Jaya. MAP 4; CLOSURE B: CONTINUATION OF LANE CLOSURE NEAR FORMER BHP PETROL STATION, SECTION 16 (PJ-BOUND) To minimise the traffic impact, motorists from KL on SPRINT Highway heading towards Petaling Jaya can opt to turn into Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar and turn right into Jalan 16/16 and then turn right to Jalan 17/1 before joining Jalan 16/11 to head back to Petaling Jaya. Page 6 of 11 5. CONTINUATION OF NIGHT LANE CLOSURE BEFORE PETRONAS SECTION 16 (KL-BOUND) Date 1 February 2015 – 30 April 2015 Time 11:00pm to 6:00am Duration 3 months Reason To accommodate the sky lift for SBG & pier coating works There will be a continuation of one (1) lane closure before the Section 16 Petronas Petrol Station at SPRINT Highway (KL-bound) starting 1 February 2015 until 30 April 2015, from 11:00pm until 6:00am. During the closure, three (3) lanes will be made available for motorists from TTDI and Petaling Jaya heading to Kuala Lumpur. MAP 5: CONTINUATION OF NIGHT LANE CLOSURE BEFORE PETRONAS SECTION 16 (KL-BOUND) Page 7 of 11 6. CONTINUATION OF NIGHT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN AT SPRINT HIGHWAY (KIARA INTERCHANGE UNTIL VICTORIA RESTAURANT) (KL-BOUND) Date 1 February 2015 – 30 April 2015 Time 11:00pm to 6:00am Duration 3 months Reason To facilitate Launching Gantry works located at the median of SPRINT Highway A continuation of night traffic management plan will be implemented at SPRINT Highway from 1 February 2015 until 30 April 2015. Details: Night contra-flow at SPRINT Highway (KL-bound) along the stretch from Kiara Interchange to Victoria Station Restaurant, starting from 1 February 2015 until 16 February 2015 at 11.00pm – 6.00am. Flyover closure from Mon’t Kiara to Kerinchi Link, starting from 1 February 2015 until 30 April 2015 at 11.00pm – 6.00am. Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes: a) From PJ to KL: Night contra-flow will be implemented, thus motorists will be diverted to the opposite lane (indicated in GREEN arrows in map). One traffic lane will be made available for both PJ and KL-bound b) From KL to PJ: Motorists will be diverted to turn left at the slip road heading to Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar and PJ (indicated in BLACK arrows in map). c) From Mon’t Kiara to KL: Motorists will be diverted to make a U-turn near Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar and joint SPRINT Highway to go to KL (indicated in PURPLE arrows in map). d) From Mon’t Kiara/ PJ to Jalan Setiapuspa, Jalan Kasah and Jalan Beluntas : Motorists will be diverted to make a U-turn to go to Jalan Setiapuspa, Jalan Kasah and Jalan Beluntas (indicated in BLUE arrows in map) e) From Mon’t Kiara to Federal Highway: Motorists will be diverted to underneath the Kerinchi Interchange flyover, and make a U-turn at Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar then proceed to Federal Highway (indicated in ORANGE arrows in map).

Klang) There will be a 24-hour full road closure along Jalan Tun Sambanthan (Brickfields-bound and Pudu – bound) for the stretch of 800m from 10:00PM ,15 September 2017 until 5:00AM,18 September 2017. 1. Rapidkl bus routes in PINK will be diverted as follow: a. Buses from Brickfields heading to LRT Pasar Seni will be diverted up to the ramp onto Jalan Sultan Sulaiman then right towards Bulatan Syed Putra and take the second exit to Jalan Sultan Mohamed. b. Buses from LRT Pasar Seni heading to Brickfields will have to return via Jalan Sultan Mohamed before proceeding to Jalan Syed Putra and exit to Jalan Tun Sambanthan via Jalan Damansara. 2. Motorists will be required to use the following alternatives routes: a. Motorists from Brickfields heading to Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock will be diverted up to the ramp onto Jalan Sultan Sulaiman then right towards Bulatan Syed Putra before taking the third exit to Jalan Petaling. Motorists will then turn left to Jalan Sultan Mohamed and another right to Jalan Hang Kasturi before reaching Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock (as indicated in GREY).     Discover Brickfelds :Building Kuala Lumpur Brickfelds is located immediately to south of Kuala Lumpur’s historic town centre adjacent to “Chinatown” and Kg Attap. Bounded by Jalan Scott (NE) & the Klang River (E), Midvalley & Kg Abdullah Hukum (S), Jalan Bangsar and Jalan Travers (W) and Jalan Damansara NW). When the original mining settlement of Kuala Lumpur was established in the mid 1850s, travel from Klang to Kuala Lumpur took 3 days by poling a boat up river. By the 1870s, one could travel by steam boat for 1½ hours and reach Damansara Village. The journey would continue overland route on horseback north to Batu Tiga, so called because it was 3 miles from Damansara, and continued through Penchala to KL. Distances along the Damansara Road was marked out by milestones and the 15th milestone was where the road ended. Brickfelds Road ran off Damansara Road at Mile 15 and so Brickfelds became popularly referred to as Batu Limabelas. With the start of rail travel in 1886, the overland route was no longer used but the name stuck. The name Brickfelds has its origins in the active brick-making industry which was established in this area in the 1870s. Kapitan Cina Yap Ah Loy, had established a brick kiln to make bricks and tiles for export to Singapore; his brickfeld is believed to have been on the site where KL Sentral is today. By the mid 1880s, there were at least 15 brick kilns in this area because of the mandatory regulation to rebuild timber and thatch into brick and tiled roofs structures.
