  • 1994 a Novel of Politics
1994 a novel of politics by Jack Miller White Tiger Press Portland, Oregon ©2019 This book is dedicated to my students, whose curiosity, dedication, and outrage have always driven me to explain what I know about politics as clearly as I possibly can. "People who claim to know jackrabbits will tell you they are primarily motivated by Fear, Stupidity, and Craziness. But I have spent enough time in jack rabbit country to know that most of them lead pretty dull lives; they are bored with their daily routines: eat, fuck, sleep, hop around a bush now and then… No wonder some of them drift over the line into cheap thrills once in a while; there has to be a powerful adrenalin rush in crouching by the side of a road, waiting for the next set of headlights to come along, then streaking out of the bushes with split-second timing and making it across to the other side just inches in front of the speeding front wheels." ― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 "Power is not an institution, and not a structure; neither is it a certain strength we are endowed with; it is the name that one attributes to a complex strategical situation in a particular society." ― Michel Foucault, The History of Sexuality PART 1 THREE SCORES DOWN TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH 6:49AM We are not going down. Only it seems like they are. The wheels of the plane just left the ground, but the takeoff feels tenuous, the aircraft moving too slowly to maintain flight.

  • Feederism: an Exploratory Study Into the Stigma of Erotic Weight Gain
Feederism: an exploratory study into the stigma of erotic weight gain by Alyshia D. Bestard A thesis presented to the University of Waterloo in fulfillment of the thesis requirement for the degree of Master of Arts in Sociology Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, 2008 © Alyshia D. Bestard 2008 ISBN: 978-0-494-43596-0 Author’s Declaration Page I hereby declare that I am the sole author of this thesis. This is a true copy of the thesis, including any required final revisions, as accepted by my examiners. I understand that my thesis may be made electronically available to the public. ii Abstract This thesis presents qualitative exploratory research findings on the phenomenon of feederism. Feederism, also referred to as “erotic weight gain,” involves people who are sexually aroused by gaining weight (called “feedees” or “gainers”) or encouraging others to gain weight (called “feeders” or “encouragers”). Sometimes feederism is practiced within relationships and sometimes it is practiced alone. Respondents emphasize the importance that fantasy plays within feederism. The experiences and understandings of 30 respondents are considered in an attempt to examine how those who are interested in feederism might be stigmatized and how they may cope with having this stigma. iii Acknowledgements Special thanks to the following people: Dr. Alicja Muszynski, Dr. Adie Nelson, and Dr. Barry McClinchey for advising me along the way through my many thesis drafts. Dr. David MacGregor, Dr. Lesley Harman, and Dr. Joseph Lella for helping develop my sociological imagination during my undergraduate degree. My research respondents who graciously shared their personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences with me and who encouraged me along the way.

A dipole antenna is a radio antenna that can be made of a simple wire, with a center-fed driven element. It consists of two metal conductors of rod or wire, oriented parallel and collinear with each other (in line with each other), with a small space between them. The radio frequency voltage is applied to the antenna at the center, between the two conductors. These antennas are the simplest practical antennas from a theoretical point of view. They are used alone as antennas, notably in traditional "rabbit ears" television antennas, and as the driven element in many other types of antennas, such as the Yagi. Dipole antennas were invented by German physicist Heinrich Hertz around 1886 in his pioneering experiments with radio waves. Electric fields (blue) and magnetic fields (red) radiated by a dipole antenna Elementary doublet An elementary doublet is a small length of conductor (small compared to the wavelength ) carrying an alternating current: Here is the angular frequency (and the frequency), and is , so that is a phasor. Note that this dipole cannot be physically constructed because the current needs somewhere to come from and somewhere to go to.
