PAVAI COLLEGE of TECHNOLOGY CHAIRMAN's MESSAGE Dear Parents and Students! PAVAI COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE Dear parents and students! Warm greetings from your Chairman! I am indeed immensely happy to share a few of my views through this Newsletter 2019-2020. This edition of the newsletter, now in your hands, stands as a testimony to the complete record of all the academic, curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and events that happened in our Paavai Engineering Colleges during the academic year 2019-2020. All such events and programmes have been organized and conducted with the mission of providing quality education and the long term vision of creating future leaders of India. It is evident from the variety of activities that Paavai is always caring very much to cater to the needs of the students. Paavai students are provided with the opportunities of listening to the valuable thoughts and the success stories of great personalities, achievers, motivators, administrators, chief executives, educationists, scientists, etc. I wish to congratulate Mr.V.Ravi Shankar, Mr.K.Hariharan and Mr.J.Ajith kumar of IV B.E for having won C# Corner Most valuable Professional Award from Microsoft. Also I appreciate my children for their active participation in Conferences,workshops and seminar organized by various Educational Institutions. I wholeheartedly thank and congratulate the Principal, Heads of the departments, faculty and students for exhibiting the spirit of oneness in organizing the events and activities during 2019-2020 and Iexpect their continuous support in future also asin the past. 2019-20 EVENTS The graduation ceremony of Paavai Educational Institutions was held on 27.4.19.The Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the inaugural function. Dr.P.Kulanthaivel, Vice chancellor, Periyar University, was the chief guest of the day. Paavai Institutions and CII Indian Women Network jointly organized a Webminar on “Food Habits & its Impact on Lifestyle Diseases” on 24 .05.19, friday at 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and inaugurated the webminar. The session created awareness about the food habits of the individual and detailed about the different types of diseases. The facilitator is Dr. Yamini Prakash, Chief Dietician at Kauvery Hospitals. Paavai Educational Institutions-National Service Scheme, Government Hospital, Rasipuram and Salem Blood Bank, Salem jointly organized the Blood Donation Camp on 24.07.19 on the college premises. Dr.B.Sridevi, Blood Bank Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Rasipuram was resource person. Totally 215 students donated their blood. Finally, the donors were appreciated with Blood Donation Certificates. Independence Day Special Pattimandram by Jaya Tv held on 25.07.2019 at Anandha arangam. An special debate show by Kalaimamani Munaivar K.Gnanasampandan and team on the topic “Kudumbathin Bigboss… Sambarikkum kanavana? Samalikkum Manaiviyaa? Paavai Educational Institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Xavier, Aruba, in order to facilitate the Indian students to pursue medical education at USA. In connection with this, a face to face interactive session with the eminent experts from Xavier university, Aruba was held at Paavai on 25.07.2019. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, the Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, presided over the programme and delivered his presidential address. Dr.Arunkumar Dubey, Chief Academic officer, Xavier University, Aruba and Dr.Kevin Pawlak, Assistant Dean (pre- med) were the chief guests and they delivered special lectures highlighting the prominent features of the study. First year B.E/B.Tech classes for the academic year 2019 – 2020 was started with the blessings of almighty on 07/08/2019. The Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions Auditor Mr N.V. Natarajan presided over the function. The Correspondent of Paavai Institutions Mrs,Mangai Natarajan inaugurated the function by lighting the Kuthu Villaku. The Chairman Auditor Mr N.V. Natarajan hoisted the Paavai flag and inaugurated the Classes for the first year students. “ASTRA 2020” -A two day intra-collegiate cultural extravaganza was organized by Paavai Institutions under the student activity forum AURA and SPARISM on 27.02.2020 and 28.02.2020 for engineering students headed by Director, Student Affairs. Chairman CA. N.V. Natarajan presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. Mr.Gowtham, Playback Singer and Vijay TV Super Singer finalist season ‘7’was the chief guest. Director Student Affairs cum ASTRA convener Mrs.Avanti Natarajan welcomed the gathering. In the key note address, the chief guest Mr.Gowtham addressed the gathering that, “This ASTRA 20’ has given the students a platform to improvise their skills and interest towards cultural activities. ASTRA 20’, more than being a normal cultural fest, it has given them good experiences The inauguration of Faculty Revalidation Programme(FRP) for the academic year 2019- 20 for the faculty members of Paavai Engineering College, Paavai College of Engineering and Paavai College of Technology was held in the Smart Hall at 02.00 p.m. on 18.11.2019.Smt.Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, inaugurated the event by lighting the kuthuvilakku and delivered the felicitation address. The chairman, delivered the inaugural address, he insisted that this FRP is a healthy exercise for the faculty members to enrich, develop, update, their professional skills in teaching and learning process 71st Republic Day Celebration was celebrated on 26.01.2020 at Kalpana Chawla Open Theatre.
