OTHER CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

Monday night will start our Convention with a trek “In the Jungle” dinner. Make sure to wear your safari or animal print casual clothing. This is for all counterparts, other members and guests. Counterparts will be seated together so they may catch up with each other and then dance the night away.

Our Tuesday Night Event, the “Arabian Nights Banquet,” is an opportunity for you to wear your Egyptian or Arabic style clothing. A contest will be held for the most authentic outfit. You won’t want to miss the theme styled entertainment.

The “Royal Rose Jubilee” Get Together Banquet Thursday evening will be full of good food, comradery and the entertaining Murat Barbershop Quartet.

The pre-performance meals on Friday and Saturday have been a success! Limited time between Session and performances often means little opportunity to eat. These meals are offered “come and go” with no formal seating. We hope this gives you ample time to enjoy a meal before watching the performances of

our awesome units.

Sunday highlights include the “Racing Toward the Future ” Ladies of the Household Luncheon. The culmination of the convention is the Installation of the 100th Daughters of the Nile Supreme Queen. The annul question: How will she enter the performance area?

A Supreme Session Registration Packet can appear a bit over-whelming, particularly to a first time attendee. Take your time and review the Table of Contents to see what activities might appeal to you – then go to that section and read about the activity. There are two ways to register for Supreme Session:

 On-Line Registration with Credit Card Payment or Check

 Start the process at www.daughtersofthenile.com. This safe, easy, and fast system provides all members (U.S. or Canadian) and guests the convenience of not only processing your Registration and Housing, but also purchasing tickets to Special Events, Tours, and/or Food Functions. You may complete this process all at once or just obtain your Registration Number, then return to the on-line system to purchase other items. When paying with a credit card, you will receive your registration number quickly. If paying by check, it will take a little longer, as the registration cannot be accepted until payment is received. A receipt will be E-mailed to you, listing all items/functions purchased.

 Mail Registration with Credit Cards (only Master Card or Visa), Checks, or Money Orders:

 The entire registration packet is located on www.daughtersofthenile.com, to download and print, or can be obtained from your Princess Recorder.

 If you choose to register through the mail, first send in the session registration form with payment, as a registration number must be received before purchasing any other event items. A non-member registration form may accompany the member’s registration form, and both fees must be remitted on one check or credit card. IMPORTANT - DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL.

 Checks, money orders, or cashier’s checks are to be made out to Koran Temple No. 30 SS Fund, U.S. funds only. You may also provide your credit card information and once approved, your registration will be processed. DO NOT E-MAIL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. Mail each of the completed event forms, including your registration number, with payment to the respective chairman, as listed on the form. Before mailing, it is important to make a copy of your forms and checks.

 If you wish to be notified of your registration number by E-mail, please provide that information on the form.

 If you wish to be notified by mail, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Deadlines, Late fees and Refund Policies:

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION, HOUSING, SPECIAL EVENTS, TOURS AND FOOD FUNCTIONS IS MARCH 31, 2016.

Reservations may be taken after the deadline based on availability and applicable late fees.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY - all cancellations and refund requests must be in WRITING and sent to the appropriate Committee Chairman. NO REFUNDS AFTER MAY 1, 2016.

Registration Fees: All registration fees are subject to a $10 cancellation fee if a refund is requested in writing by MAY 1, 2016. AFTER THIS DATE THERE ARE NO REGISTRATION FEE REFUNDS.

Tours: Quoted prices of tours are good through March 31, 2016. For reservations after that date, you must add $10 to the price of the tour. A $10 cancellation fee will be charged for all cancellations after payment and before MAY 1, 2016. AFTER THIS DATE THERE ARE NO TOUR REFUNDS. Tours are subject to cancellation, with full refund, if minimum number of guests is not met. Tours may also be cancelled with full refund or modified with comparable substitutions because of weather, venue availability, or other extenuating circumstances.

Food Functions: All food function reservations are due by March 31, 2016. Beginning April 1, 2016, the cost of each meal will increase by $10. AFTER MAY 1, 2016 THERE ARE NO FOOD FUNCTION REFUNDS. There are NO guarantees that reservations can be made for food functions after May 1, 2016.

Hotel Reservations: All Individual reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card. Please make your cancellations with the Housing Committee & confirm they received your request. Failure to cancel a reservation, or to check-in, will result in one (1) night stay plus tax being charged to your credit card and cancellation of the remaining nights. Each person will receive a hotel confirmation number even though you are sharing a room. Please share this information with your roommates who do not have E-mail.

However, you must list with whom you are sharing a room, otherwise each person will be reserving a SEPARATE hotel room.

We are eagerly awaiting your arrival in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 100th Annual Supreme Session hosted by Koran Temple No. 30. Please join us as we celebrate “100 Years of Nile Royalty.”

Here is some valuable information to assist you in the registration process.

Everyone planning to stay in a room must be registered before your housing request can be processed.

All housing requests MUST be made through the Housing Committee. The hotel will not accept your direct reservation.

All housing requests must be submitted through on-line registration or on the enclosed form. The form may be sent by E-mail or standard mail. NO reservations will be accepted over the phone.

ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOTEL ROOM SHOULD REQUEST THE ROOM. List ALL OCCUPANTS of the room, their registration number, Temple name and number, and E-mail address.

Each person will receive a confirmation number, even though they are sharing the room. Please share it with your roommates who do not have E-mail.

All reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card

Cancellations can ONLY be made through the Supreme Session Housing Committee. Failure to cancel or check-in will result in charges of one (1) nights housing plus tax to the card & the remaining reservation being cancelled.

RV CAMPGROUNDS: Conveniently located on the 250-acre Indiana State Fairgrounds, the RV Campgrounds features spaces that accommodate full hook-up requests and those needing primitive sites. They offer 200 sites, with 80 having full seasonal hook-ups (water, 30-50amp electricity and sewer) and 90 sites using electricity or water. Rates for sites requesting hook-up are $30 per day. Any sites using no hook-ups are $20 per day. All prices include 7% state tax.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Enter the Indiana State Fairgrounds at Gate 6 (via Fall Creek Parkway), drive straight ahead to the Tom Raper RV Campgrounds. Pick your space & call Security to come & complete your hook-up, check-in & collect fees. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A portal where you can purchase wireless packages appears. The prices are listed with wireless options as you follow the process. Issues? Call ERMCO Electric at 317-423-3877. Q: Are the camping spots pull through? A: No, there are no pull through sites available. Q: Can you have pets? A: Animals and pets are permitted but must be leashed. IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

We look forward to your arrival in Indianapolis, Indiana and hope you will enjoy a wonderful week filled with energy, fun, fellowship and some surprises! The Food Events Committee will be happy to assist you with all of your food functions during your stay in Indianapolis. We will be offering SPECIAL DIET MEALS UPON REQUEST. This information must be marked on the food function request form and you need to complete the Food Allergy Form on page 23.

If you are not attending a counterpart meal, other food function or Gentlemen of the Creeks’ breakfast, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel/event center. Please see maps in your packet for restaurant locations. In addition to the restaurants, bistro, & Starbucks located in the hotel, a food kiosk will be available.

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED before your food event requests can be processed. Requests may be submitted on-line at www.daughtersofthenile.com or on the enclosed form. You must include your registration number.

REMEMBER – Reservations for all meals must be made through the Food Events Committee. The J.W. Marriott Hotel will NOT honor direct arrangements. The Food Events Committee has made arrangements for all no-host group meals.

SPECIAL INVITATION TO ALL! We will be offering Pre-Performance dinners on Friday night, June 17, 2016, & Saturday night, June 18, 2016. The serving time for both nights is 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Since we always find ourselves short on time between Stated Session and the evening performances, we are providing a dinner each night. Drink and dessert are included. ALL ARE WELCOME. Everyone must have a ticket to attend! (Find on Food Events Sheets). We hope you will join us for an informal “Come and Go” before the FUN-FILLED evening performances!

Completed reservation forms MUST BE RECEIVED BY March 31, 2016. We cannot guarantee any meal requests received after this deadline. Requests received from March 31st through May 1st will be subject to availability plus a $10.00 late fee. No refunds after May 1, 2016.

I am very honored and excited to have been appointed your Supreme Choir Director for the 100th Annual Supreme Session in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am hoping that MANY of you will choose to participate in the Mass Chorus this year. This is an open invitation to ALL members of the Daughters of the Nile to come and join your voices together in harmony and song to enhance the varied ceremonies at our Supreme Session.

I should probably tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Cheryl Kuritz. I am a PQ (2008) of Koran Temple No. 30 in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have taught private voice students for many years. I held the position of choir/music director at a church and have sung with and directed many choruses. I have sung professionally for over thirty years and continue to share this gift…as long as the voice lets me!!

Please consider becoming a participant in this very special group so that we can work together to make beautiful music and have LOTS of FUN while doing so!! Please don’t hesitate to contact me at ANY time with questions and/or concerns. I look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you!!

These are the requirements for participation in the Mass Choir. Each individual must complete a registration form, attend all rehearsals and participate in all performances. Indianapolis was selected as the site of the Indiana State Capitol in 1820. From that date Indianapolis has progressed to a city of nearly one million residents. See the sites that have been important in the development of Indianapolis during this four-hour tour. Among the places you will see are: Butler University, Marion University, Governor’s Residence, Lucas Oil Stadium, Central Canal, Lockerbie Square, Union Station, Circle Center Mall, State Capitol Building, Christ Church Cathedral, American Union Station stained glass window Legion Mall, , Zoo, Museum of Art, Circle Theater, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and the Eli Lilly & Company headquarters.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle and the Circle itself is a special place in Indianapolis history. Spend approximately 20 minutes with your tour guide and learn the rich history of this area.

TOUR D: INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY GROUNDS 11:00A.M. – 3:00P.M.

A trip to Indianapolis is not complete without a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This world-famous track hosts the IndyCar Indy 500 in May, the NASCAR Brickyard 400 in July, and the MotoGP motorcycle race in August.

Today’s tour is the Speedway’s Grounds Tour. This 75-minute tour with a Speedway staff person gives guests the opportunity to tour the oval track and stand on the famous “Yard of Bricks” at the start/finish line. The tour also includes visits to the media center, the Pagoda, the victory platform, the garage area and a Gasoline Alley hospitality suite.

The tour ends at the Hall of Fame Museum which has more than 75 vehicles on display. Including several that won the Indy 500, along with other vehicles which include rare Duesenberg models. Also on display are car and driver memorabilia and the equipment and methods used for timing and scoring the Indy 500. There is also a 20-minute video presentation depicting the history of this 100-year old track.

Lunch is at the Brickyard Crossing Restaurant. It is not included in the tour price.

Dallara Automobili opened this factory in Speedway in 2012 and it is Dallara’s ONLY factory outside Italy. Dallara builds all of the cars that compete in this year’s Indy 500 and the other IndyCar races. For nearly 40 years, Dallara has been designing and building some of the world’s fastest and most competitive race cars. The visit to the Dallara facility includes: 1) Garage tour, including simulators and exhibits; 2) Factory theater featuring the history of the company; 3) Your photo taken in front of a “green screen” and then superimposed as the driver of an IndyCar parked at the start-finish line at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. 4) A ride in the “street-legal” two-seat Indy race car which is an Indy race car stretched to include a second seat. TOUR G: ROLLS-ROYCE (ALLISON) AIRCRAFT ENGINE MUSEUM 11:00A.M. – 2:00P.M.

Allison Engine Company (the predecessor to Rolls-Royce, which purchased the company from General Motors in 1995) constructed Liberty engines for aircraft during World War I. Allison turned its attention to developing the 17a V-12 engine developing 1,000 horsepower. This engine was the power plant for the new generation of United States Army Air Corps fighters, plus P-38 Lightning, the P-39 Airacobra, and the P-40 Warhawk. After World War II, the Army decided to take General Electric’s version of Frank Whittle’s jet engines and give them to Allison to produce instead. The main production model was the Allison J33, of which over 7,000 were produced. Allison also took over GE’s axial flow engine design becoming the Allison J35, which was the power plant for the F-84 Thunderjet and the F-89 Scorpion. Over 14,000 Allison J-35 engines were produced Allison also began developing a series of turboprop engines which included the T38, T40, and T56. The latter powered the C-130 Hercules. Allison turboprop engines were also used to re-engine Convair airplanes; which resulted in the Convair 580 turboprop used by Allegheny, American, Frontier, and other airlines. Allison used the same technology to develop the AE 3007 turbofan jet which propels many regional airline aircraft such as the Embraer ERJ 135, ERJ 140, and the ERJ 145. Allison turbine engines are also used in the Bell 206 Jet Ranger, the Long Ranger, and the Sikorsky S- 76 helicopters. The museum collection includes all of these significant historical engines plus many others. Including several auto turbine engines. After visiting this Museum, travel to the Indianapolis City Market and select from several eateries you spot for lunch. This meal is NOT included in the tour cost.

The Go Green Airport Shuttle is the express Indianapolis Airport shuttle serving . The shuttle operates from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm 7 days a week, & the cost is $10 each way. Gentlemen of The Creeks

The Gentlemen of the Creeks have been assisting the ladies of the Daughters of the Nile for over 30 years. Membership is open to Master Masons, Shriners or those related to a Daughter of the Nile. The Gentlemen will hold a Breakfast and meeting on the opening day of the Supreme Session. The Creek Hospitality Suite hours and location will be announced at the Breakfast. This room will be open to all who are attending the Session and is a good time to socialize with others who are in attendance. If you are not a member ‘at large’ or of an established Creek we would invite you to join us and continue helping the Daughters of the Nile. Each year we make a donation to the Daughters of the Nile Foundation during a formal presentation. We would like to have your monetary donation for this wonderful purpose. Because of the Bank Charges for Canadian checks we need them to be in U.S. Dollars for the amounts you have checked.
