  • Production Notes
A Film by John Madden Production Notes Synopsis Even the best secret agents carry a debt from a past mission. Rachel Singer must now face up to hers… Filmed on location in Tel Aviv, the U.K., and Budapest, the espionage thriller The Debt is directed by Academy Award nominee John Madden (Shakespeare in Love). The screenplay, by Matthew Vaughn & Jane Goldman and Peter Straughan, is adapted from the 2007 Israeli film Ha-Hov [The Debt]. At the 2011 Beaune International Thriller Film Festival, The Debt was honoured with the Special Police [Jury] Prize. The story begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (played by Academy Award winner Helen Mirren) and Stephan (two-time Academy Award nominee Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciarán Hinds of the upcoming Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy). All three have been venerated for decades by Israel because of the secret mission that they embarked on for their country back in 1965-1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Jessica Chastain [The Tree of Life, The Help], Marton Csokas [The Lord of the Rings, Dream House], and Sam Worthington [Avatar, Clash of the Titans]) tracked down Nazi war criminal Dieter Vogel (Jesper Christensen of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace), the feared Surgeon of Birkenau, in East Berlin. While Rachel found herself grappling with romantic feelings during the mission, the net around Vogel was tightened by using her as bait. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team’s mission was accomplished – or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations that compel Rachel to take matters into her own hands.

  • American Gangster

Despite his partner’s warnings, he sets out to investigate the crimes. Before long, the killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead.

  • The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT BY STEPHEN ADLY GUIRGIS DIRECTED BY DAVID VEGH C A S E W E S T E R N RESERVE UNIVERSITY // CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE MFA ACTING PROGRAM DECEMBER 2 - 6 // ONLINE PERFORMANCES DEAR FRIENDS WELCOME to the CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program’s first remote production,The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. The Class of 2022 has adjusted to a very different training model since last March, with the majority of their classes transitioning to remote experiences. Despite the unforeseen challenges and continuous adjustments, our training continues, discoveries are made, breakthroughs occur, and productions — which serve as the application of training — take place. Last spring, the cohort performed its dress rehearsal of Middletown, giving a heartfelt single performance for an invited audience, only to learn within hours that Cleveland Play House was forced to close its operations due to the growing pandemic. This fall, our students have the chance for their work to be seen by a wider audience beyond Cleveland, which might include friends and family who might not have had the chance to see them perform otherwise. The class also has the opportunity to grow more comfortable with filmed media which, along with live theatre, will hopefully be part of their futures. The upcoming spring will see recruitment of a new class, and that too will happen in a different fashion with preliminary auditions taking place remotely. We will see once again hundreds of candidates from across the country and increasingly from across the world.

He was an Arc winner, he won four French Derbys and every French Classic at least once, and more than 70 G1s worldwide. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen Directed by Jessica Blank Complete Cast Features Santino Fontana, Arjun Gupta, John Ortiz, Alison Pill, Nicholas Pinnock, Jamey Sheridan, and Lorraine Toussaint June 30, 2020 – The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced the world premiere of THE LINE, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen and directed by Blank, to debut on Wednesday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The live-streamed play, bringing first-person stories of New York City’s first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic to the digital stage, will be available to watch for free via both YouTube and The Public’s website. Commissioned by The Public Theater and written specifically for the digital sphere, this new play will premiere on July 8, and remain available on demand until August 4 at 11:59 p.m. ET. “In spring 2020, we conducted anonymous interviews with NYC frontline medical workers battling the COVID-19 virus,” said THE LINE creators Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen. “Through these interviews, we began to see care as a radical response to institutionalized violence and the systems that perpetuate it. Created from quarantine in ‘rapid response’ to this national emergency, THE LINE presents a fundamental redefinition of what it means to protect and serve, examining the fault lines in our system through the words of the brave people who show up every day to care for us all.” THE LINE is a new play by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen created in the award-winning documentary style that brought you The Exonerated, Aftermath, and Coal Country.
