The Spittoon – Autumn 2014

We grow it, we make it, we love it

Our minimalist approach in making is consistent with our newsletter – less is more. We have just struggled through a challenging vintage with the yields being significantly down on previous years. We were badly effected by frost in October. Summer delivered virtually no rain with hot and extreme heat. However the good news is that the quality will be outstanding, the bad news…… there won’t be much around!

AWARDS

Our have received some great awards recently, starting with a bronze medal for the 2012 ‘Kyneton Rd’ Shiraz at the Royal Wine Show. It also received a ribbon at the Kyneton Wine show for overall equal third best wine at the show. Coincidently it was equal third with another of our wines, the 2011 ‘The Max’ Shiraz, which also got a bronze medal at the Victorian Wine Show. Furthermore the Advertiser had a wonderful write up on the 2012 ‘Giarracca ‘ in February.
