MARKET BULLETIN 7 BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME BY EVA MOORE Brandon Carter, executive chef of Bluffton’s FARM, is one of South Carolina’s five chef ambassadors for 2019 — and he was the first of the five to host a special Hometown Dinner at his restaurant. The South Carolina Chef Ambassador program was launched in 2015 by the Office of the Governor, the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and the state Department of Agriculture to highlight the importance of top-notch chefs and Certified SC Grown food in attracting visitors to South Carolina. The chefs participate in events throughout the Southeast, promoting South Carolina and its various regions and foods. And for the first time, this year each chef is hosting a dinner at his or her home SCDA restaurant. It’s a way to celebrate the communities and the farmers who made them successful in the first place. CELEBRATE NATIONAL FARMERS On Sunday, July 14, Carter welcomed friends and family, farmers who supply MARKET WEEK his restaurant, and dignitaries including S.C. Rep.
