RECOMMENDATIONS:

A. That the City Council designate the unnumbered location situated one sidewalk square northerly of and between numbered locations 13M and 14m as shown on Sheet #20 of Plan D-13788 for the for the installation of the name of Katey Sagal at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard.

B. Infoiin the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce of the Council's action on this matter. C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on September 9, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT:

No General Fund Impact. All cost paid by permittee.

1. Unnumbered communication dated July 25, 2014, from the Hollywood Historic Trust of the Hollywood Chamber of Coninerce, biographical information and excerpts from the minutes of the Chamber's meeting with recommendations.

DISCUSSION:

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame the name of Katey Sagal. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street, 3rd Floor, Counter 23.

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has approved the below listed name for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

KATEY SAGAL-(Category —TELEVISION) Requested star location to be 7021 Hollywood Blvd., North side of the street near DSW Shoes and Marshall's. The star for KATEY SAGAL will be placed in the second row next to the original row closest to the property. The stars situated in the original row where star is situated are KENNY LOGGINS (14m) to the WEST and MITCH MILLER (13M) to the east. According to sheet # 20 plan 13788, KA LEY SAGAL'star is next to one blank star to the east and the star of ED O'NEILL which is on the west side. The second row spots have no designated numbers. STAR TO POINT WEST. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday,September 9, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.

Martinez discussed the Walk of Fame Committee report. The slate of honorees as selected by the Walk of Fame committee for year 2013 are:

Motion by Goldman, seconded by Gallogly to approve the 2013 Walk of Fame honorees as provided by the Walk of Fame Committee. Motion carried.

Golden Globe Award winning actress Katey Sagal has entertained audiences in a variety of dramatic and comedic roles throughout her notable career.

Currently, Sagal stars on the FX drama "," which is in production on the seventh and final season,and premieres in September."Sons of Anarchy" is a gritty, one-hour drama about a notorious outlaw motorcycle club in Northern California who fights to protect their small town from drug dealers and local corporate developers. Sagal plays 'Gemma,'the maternal matriarch of the club and won her first Golden Globe,"Best Performance by Actress in a Television Series - Drama,"for the role in 2010. She has also been nominated two years in a row by the Broadcast Television Critics as "Best Actress in a Drama Series."

Next, Saga] will be featured as narrator of the new NBC comedy,"A to Z." The half-hour sitcom is executive produced by and will premiere this fall on October 2nd, 2014. The show stars Ben Feldman and Cristin Milioti.

In 2015, Sagal will appear in the sequel " 2," produced and directed by . She will play the mother of new cast member 's character."" returns with the original cast including, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and Adam DeVine. The film is set to release on May 15, 2015.

Prior to her success on "Sons of Anarchy," Sagal starred in the ABC series "...," alongside the late and was the featured voice of',' a beautiful one-eyed alien, in the animated series "." Sagal has had roles in the independent films "I'm Reed Fish" and the tele-film "3 Wise Guys." She also recurred as 'Helen' on the ABC television phenomenon "" and 'Nancy Gilroy' on FX's "." In addition to her acting, Sagal is a critically acclaimed singer and songwriter. Saga! was a 'Harlette' with for three years as well as a background singer for , Olivia Newton-John, and . With the support of record label Valley Entertainment, Sagal released her album,"Room," in 2004. "Room" was the first record for Saga]since her 1994 debut, "Well." "Room" was a combination of original songs penned by Sagal including "Life Goes Round","Daddy's Girl" and "Wish I Were a Kid" and memorable classics like "Feel a Whole Lot Better" and "(For the Love of) Money". The first single was "Daddy's Girl", a touching song about the long-lasting relationship between a daughter and her father. She debuted the song on the March 2, 2004 episode of"8 Simple Rules..."."Room" was produced by Bob Thiele (Bonnie Raitt) and mixed by Ray Kennedy (Twangtrust/Steve Earle).
