I, Sarah Cahill, do hereby declare:

I. I am the host ofthe locally-produced program, "Then and Now," which has been broadcast from April 7, 2002 to the present by noncommercial station KALW(FM), 91.7 MHz, , California ("KALW") licensed to the San Francisco Unified School District ("SFUSD").

2. "Then and Now" is a program ofclassical and contemporary classical music.

3. As host of"Then and Now," my duties include: editorial determinations as to the topics and guests presented on the program, overseeing the booking ofguests on the program, keeping abreast ofissues ofimportance to the listening community, researching the musical selections, and notification to KALW ofupcoming topics.

4. During the period between July 16, 2003 and July 16, 2004, "Then and Now" regularly aired on KALWon Sundays, between 8 and 10 pm, except for occasional travel and vacations, at which time I would find substitute hosts for "Then and Now."

5. Program lists for "Then and Now" which I prepared for a sample ofprograms produced between July 16, 2003 and July 16, 2004 are attached at Attachment A. I hereby confirm that these lists accurately describe the "Then and Now" programs delivered to KALW during this time period, and on information and belief, such programs were broadcast by KALW on the listed dates and times.

I understand that this declaration may be submitted by SFUSD to the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC") in connection with the proceeding to determine whether SFUSD's FCC license to operate KALW should be renewed. Date: July 27, 2003 Topic: Women's Philharmonic Guest: Thea Musgrave Issue ofImportance to the Community: This was part ofa series profiling women composers, and Scottish composer Musgrave is an important and articulate practice and advocate ofmusic by women.

Date: November 2, 2003 Topic: music of Guests: Terry Riley, Gyan Riley (live studio performance) Issue of Importance to the Community: Terry Riley is the founder of minimalism and one of California's great composers.

Date: November 16, 2003 Topic: Vivian Fine memorial tribute Guests: Elinor Armer, also Fine's daughter Issue of Importance to the Community: Vivian Fine had strong ties to the Bay Area and was a prolific composers. Armer was one of her students.

Date: December 7, 2003 Topic: Christmas Revels feature Guests: Shira Kammen Issue of Importance to the Community: The Revels is a much-loved community event. Shira Kammen, a frequent performer in the Revels, is a Berkeley native and nationally recognized performer on historical string instruments.

Date: April 4, 2004 Topic: Guests: Pauline Oliveros Issue of Importance to the Community: Oliveros was a founder of the San Francisco Tape Music Center, and has since gone on to be a highly influential composer. She performed live in the KALW studio.

Date: April 18, 2004 Topic: Paul Dresher, Volti Guests: Paul Dresher, Robert Geary Issue ofimportance to the Community: Dresher is a local composer with an international reputation. Geary is director ofVolti, a terrific chorus in the Bay Area.
