LADY ALEXANDRA HIP MORE THAN READY– LOPHORINA (GB), by KING’S BEST 458 BARN 10 Selling July 10Th at Fasig-Tipton LADY ALEXANDRA OVERVIEW BUYER’S PASSPORT LADY ALEXANDRA HIP MORE THAN READY– LOPHORINA (GB), BY KING’S BEST 458 BARN 10 Selling July 10th at Fasig-Tipton LADY ALEXANDRA OVERVIEW LADY ALEXANDRA has been a very consistent filly, with three wins from six starts and a Stakes placing. She is headed to the Fasig-Tipton July Horses of Racing Age Sale in top form and not to be underappreciated is her MASSIVE pedigree page that would be a great addition to any broodmare band. She has competed on the toughest circuits in New York and Florida battling against several high end three-year-old turf fillies. Showing her class in October of her two-year-old year she was forced to debut on a muddy off track when her Maiden was rained off the turf and gutted out a win in tough conditions. Being by More Than Ready and out of a turf favored female family she was only allowed to try the turf in her third lifetime start, getting a Stakes placing in the $100,000 Ginger Brew Stakes. Since that effort she has found the winners circle two more times in top Allowance races and looks to move back into Stakes company for new owners. Elite Sales is being well supported by longtime clients Sheep Pond and Newport Stables being the first year in business and because of that this filly is being offered in our first consignment. 3 She earned an 82 Beyer, 9 Thoro-Graph, and 12 /4 Ragozin in her WIN on June 22nd. CURRENT TRAINER – CHAD BROWN Chad Brown in his young career has become the top trainer in the coun- try earning the Eclipse Award for leading trainer in 2016 topping the country with 23.1 million in earnings. In 2017 he captured the G1 Preak- ness Stakes with Cloud Computing. He selected LADY ALEXANDRA him- self at the two-year-old sales loving her overall physical and pedigree page. He has done a great job campaigning her so far and would love for the opportunity to keep her in his barn for the new owner. RACE CAREER OVERVIEW JUNE 22ND – N2X ALLOWANCE WON BY ½ LENGTH – WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS #2) In against older fillies and mares including 4yo Alywow Stakes Winner Miss Katie Mae (IRE) in a top level $80,000 Allowance at Belmont Park LADY ALEXANDRA han- dled the field with ease winning by a ½ length easily. She sat a nice trip under Javier Castellano in the pocket and saving ground. She slipped up the rail and showed a nice turn of foot down the lane. Miss Katie Mae came running late but LADY ALEX- ANDRA had it won, digging in gamely to make it a comfortable win. To beat older fillies and mares early in her 3yo season was an impressive feat and shows she is in top form. CLICK TO VIEW CHART MAY 20TH – SOARING SOFTLY STAKES 6TH BEATEN 2 ½ LENGTHS – WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS #6) In a near course record effort by this nice group of three-year-old filliesLADY ALEX- ANDRA had a very frustrating trip finishing 6th, beaten 2 ½ lengths. Since she was coming off 17 days rest this race was a lot to ask of her. LADY ALEXANDRA looked to be sitting a great trip in the 7 furlong turf event, hugging the rail as the 5/2 fa- vorite. Turning for home the announcer said, “LADY ALEXANDRA is going to need some racing room.” As Stakes winner/G3 Placed Morticia and Stakes Winner/4th in G1 Breeders Cup Juv Turf Lull battled it out down the lane LADY ALEXANDRA finally found some room but at this point had begun flattening out and finished 6th beaten only 2 ½ lengths. Stakes winning Bellavais, daughter of Tapit finished third. The race couldn’t have been hotter with 4th place finisher Con Te Partiro coming back to win the Sandrigham Stakes at Royal Ascot in her next start! Still, the short rest clearly influenced her performance. CLICK TO VIEW CHART MAY 3RD – N1X ALLOWANCE OVERCAME TROUBLE IN A STRONG EFFORT – WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS #1A) In a first level Allowance race for 3 and up fillies and maresLADY ALEXANDRA went off the favorite in a competitive New York quality Allowance field. She sat a nice trip and made a three wide run down the center of the turf course showing a nice turn of foot and won with ease by 1 ½ lengths. It was visually one of her more impressive performances in only her second lifetime turf race and first race as a three-year-old. CLICK TO VIEW CHART POSSIBLE RACING SCHEDULE This filly has done good work going one turn on the turf. However, Chad would be looking to stretch her out in her next effort and a two turn mile or 1 1/16th should be well within the More Than Ready filly’s reach. In fact, her Stakes placing came in a two turn one mile event. Below is a summer Stakes schedule that will fit her: DATE RACETRACK GRADE RACE PURSE DISTANCE SURFACE July 21st Saratoga G3 Lake George $150,000 1 1/16M Turf July 23rd Del Mar G2 San Clemente $200,000 1 Mile Turf August 24th Saratoga Riskaverse $100,000 1 Mile Turf August 27th Woodbine Ontario Colleen $125,000 1 Mile Turf September 6th Indiana Indiana Grand $200,000 1 Mile Turf September 8th Belmont Park Chistiecat $100,000 6f Turf September 10th Woodbine La Prevoyante $125,000 1 Mile Turf September 16th Gulfstream Park Miss Gracie $100,000 1 Mile Turf October 14th Belmont Park Pebbles $200,000 1 Mile Turf November 23rd Aqueduct Winter Memories $150,000 1 1/16M Turf SPEED FIGURES DRF PP’S She has been very consistent on her surface of choice with a 78, 82, 79, 82 pattern. • LADY ELI SIBLING MAY BE ‘STAR’ in 2ND CAREER by Jen Roytz Courtesy Paulickreport.Com
COSEQUIN PRESENTS AFTERCARE SPOTLIGHT: LADY ELI SIBLING MAY BE ‘STAR’ IN 2ND CAREER by Jen Roytz Courtesy PaulickReport.com Boundless Heart didn't take to racing but appears to have a promising future in dressage The undefeated Lady Eli captured the attention of the racing world with her brilliant Grade 1 victories in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and Belmont Oaks Invitational. Then, in an unfortunate turn of events, the filly stepped on a nail shortly after the Belmont Oaks, triggering laminitis in both front feet. Thanks to skilled management by her team and a bit of luck, the filly has seemed to rebound, returning to trainer Chad Brown's Palm Meadows barn and stepping back onto the track for a jog December 16th. It may turn out to be one of the biggest comeback stories the industry has seen in years. Back in her home state of Kentucky, her half-brother is working on a comeback of his own, and while it may not play out on the global stage like his half-sister's story, it too holds promise for great things to come. Born at historic Runnymede Farm in Paris, Ky., Boundless Heart occupied the same fence lines as his famous half-sister would just two years later. Consigned to the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the dark bay failed to meet his reserve of $110,000 and was sent off to be started under saddle and prepared for racing. Runnymede owner Catesby Clay opted to send the colt to acclaimed conditioner Ken McPeek, but in two attempts as a 2-year-old and once at age three, the best Boundless Heart could manage was third.
