PRADHAN MANTRI VAYA VANDAN YOJANA PRADHAN MANTRI VAYA VANDAN YOJANA Announced by PM on New Year eve of 2017& launched by the Finance Minister on 21.7.2017 To provide social security and protect elderly. For citizens aged 60 years and above, it was opened for subscription from May 4, 2017 to May 3, 2018 Now PMVVY Pension Investment Limit has been Doubled from Rs. 7.5 lakh to 15 lakh Now Senior Citizens can get up to Rs. 10,000 pension per month. Scheme has been extended by two years from May 4, 2018 to March 31, 2020. The scheme provides an assured pension based on a guaranteed rate of return of 8 per cent per annum for ten years. UJJWALA UJJWALA Scheme for Providing Free LPG connections to Women from BPL Households launched by PM in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh on 1.5.2016 As on 6.5.2018, more than 3.78 crore new LPG connections given to them. Out of this, 30.5% and 13.3% connections issued to SC and ST categories respectively. The three other greenfield airports are proposed to be set up in Andhra Pradesh, with two of them likely to be no- frills ones. The Environment Ministry has already given environmental clearance to Rs. 1,378 crore airport project at Dholera in Ahmedabad last year. "The site clearance, which is the first clearance, was given on Monday for the Bhogapuram airport in Andhra Pradesh which is about 40 km from Vizag," Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey said on Monday. The Ministry has also given its go ahead for development of a greenfield airport in Nellore and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh under a public-private partnership, he said. A greenfield airport is a new airport which is constructed on an undeveloped site. The GMR-run Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad near Hyderabad and GVK-Group run Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru are greenfield airports. Dholera airport, which would be developed in 3,525 acres owned by the state government, is expected to have two runways and the terminal building will have a capacity for 1,200 domestic and international passengers.

In a reply to question raised by member of Rajya Sabha Shri Parimal Nathwani, the central government has said that it has granted site clearance for five airports including Dholera International airport in Gujarat. Moreover, the central government has accorded ‘In principle’ approval to 15 international and domestic airports. Besides, it has received proposals for development, expansion and up-gradation of airports in 34 cities of 16 states of India. The government of Gujarat is planning to develop Dholera as the first ‘Smart City’ of the state with investment of a huge amount of money. The central government has granted site clearance to Dholera International Airport to be developed by M/s Dholera International Airport Corporation Ltd. Moreover, the central government has also granted site clearance for Jamshedpur airport in Jharkhand, Machiwara at Ludhiana in Punjab, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Ongole in Prakasham District of Andhra Pradesh, said Dr. Mahesh Sharma, minister of state of civil aviation. The minister tabled the reply in the upper house in a reply to the question asked by Mr. Parimal Nathwani about development of proposed airports along with expansion and up-gradation existing airports in the country. The minister of state for civil aviation also said that the ministry has granted approval for setting up 15 green field airports in the country since 2000.

Under the government's stimulus package, six airports have been identified for the second round bidding for operation and maintenance on PPP basis.
