Ken Frye April 24 We are still trying to wrap our heads about the current CDC and State of Illinois COVID World Earth Celebration mitigations. Illinois Zoos are still being asked to keep attendance at 25% of their & World Penguin Day capacity. For Scovill Zoo that translates to 250 people per hour. Last year we intro- May 8 duced on-line ticketing for daily ticket sales. Full disclosure, it was not the easiest Zippy Zoo Fun Run system to navigate but it is the one that works with our park district programs. With a Zippy Zoo Day with Mom year under their belt, we hope it will be a bit more user May 21 friendly this season. To guarantee admission, people will Endangered Species Day need to purchase their tickets in advance. Members may also reserve their times at the zoo using the same system. May 31 Memorial Day The train and carousel were inspected in 2020 but we were not allowed to operate them last season. We are June 7 now up and running again! Staff are spacing out riders Summer Camps Begin and sanitizing between rides. As we begin train rides June 8 again, regular riders will definitely notice a difference in World Ocean Day the track. This past winter all of the track from the Zoo Train Depot to the new trestle has been upgraded to a June 11 larger rail size.
