Participating institutions require Potawatomi Zoo membership card and photo ID of all named adults. The recriprocal institution's definition of membership levels, which may vary from Potawatomi Zoo's definition, are applicable to admission. Reciprocation typically applies to general admission only. It does not include parking, petting zoos, special exhibits, souvenir discounts, rides, special events, or guests. For free zoos, contact the institution before discount benefits of membership.

What is the difference between a named guest and an unnamed guest? A named guest is another person listed on your membership card. This option is popular for people to name babysitters or grandparents, as they are able to visit the Zoo without a primary adult present. Having an unnamed guest means that you may bring anyone else with you when you visit the Zoo, adult or child, but at least one of the named members must be present. I lost my membership cards, what can I do? There are two options in which you can choose. 1: Show your ID at the membership booth and they will be able to look your membership up or 2: Fill out an Active Membership Change form available at the Membership Booth or call (574) 235-7651 and for a small $5 fee, you will receive two new replacement cards. Purchasing the replacement cards will not only make your experience at the admission booth easier, but also much faster! What happens if I renew before my current membership expires? If you renew at the same membership level, one year will be added to your current expiration date. How will I know to renew my membership? Don’t worry- we will let you know when it’s time to renew. You will receive notices both by mail and e- mail. This is why it is important to always keep your information updated with your membership. Why do I always have to show ID when entering the zoo? In order to protect the integrity of all Potawatomi Zoo memberships and the benefits associated with them, we ask that all named adults on the membership show a piece of identification, such as a driver’s license, to prove that it is the membership holder entering the zoo. This also protects our members should their membership cards be lost or stolen. Can I use my Potawatomi Zoo membership at other zoos? Your membership at Potawatomi Zoo has many great privileges such as using our Reciprocal Program. This reciprocal program gives you free or discounted admission to over 150 zoos across the United States and Canada. Make sure you always travel with your membership ID, as membership databases are not linked and they will have no way to verify your membership.
