No one can fail to be moved by the Great Pyramids, the tombs and temples of Luxor, or mysterious Petra. Add Biblical landmarks, Greco-Roman ruins, and special entrée to many of these timeless treasures, and you have a journey that is truly unforgettable. We are delighted that Isabel Stuenkel, Assistant Curator in the Department of Egyptian Art, will be traveling with us. Isabel’s extensive experience in the field, and her love and knowledge of Egypt, are certain to enhance our appreciation of this extraordinary land. Spend four nights in Cairo to explore splendid museums and monuments, and welcome the New Year with a festive dinner. A private plane will take us to St. Catherine’s Monastery at the foot of Mount Sinai for a morning viewing of its impressive Byzantine icons. Fly next to Abu Simbel to admire the colossal temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. Rafferty Curator for ancient Egyptian President art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
