MEDIA Media release 08.00 ET September 14, 2020 — McLaren North America sees an 11 percent increase in Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales throughout 2020 despite Coronavirus shutdown challenges . The North American McLaren dealership network has sold 580 Certified Pre-Owned vehicles as of August 2020 - an 11 percent increase in sales vs August 2019 . McLaren’s North American pre-owned program, previously McLaren Qualified, has been re- branded to ‘McLaren Certified Pre-Owned’- tailored to suit the North American market . McLaren Certified Pre-Owned ensures that each pre-owned vehicle has had every component ‘certified’ via a rigorous multi-point inspection by McLaren-trained dealership technicians . Supercar ownership possible at sportscar pricing Despite the sales challenges faced by the automotive industry as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, McLaren North America have recorded their best ever year-to-date pre-owned vehicle sales. The McLaren Certified Pre- Owned program, available in both the US and Canada, has delivered 580 vehicles between January – August 2020 – an 11 percent uplift versus August 2019. These sales were comprised of 50 vehicles sold through the three Canadian dealerships and 530 sold through the 25-US based dealership network. The McLaren Certified Pre-Owned scheme, previously ‘McLaren Qualified’, has recently undergone a rebrand to make it better suited to the North American customer. To achieve McLaren ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ status, each vehicle must pass a vigorous and comprehensive multi-point examination carried out by McLaren-trained technicians. ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ vehicles go through all servicing and maintenance due within three months of handover, have only McLaren Genuine Parts fitted, and have passed all vehicle provenance checks available on the market by the McLaren retailer. Additionally, all McLaren Certified Pre-Owned vehicles come with a minimum one-year Certified Warranty to offer new owners’ total peace of mind. The Certified Warranty covers the cost of parts and labor for eligible repairs carried out at McLaren retailers and service centers and is fully manufacturer-backed - offering unrivaled cover on all factory-fitted components (excluding failures related to wear and tear). The Certified Pre-Owned program also offers customers benefits such as 12-months roadside assistance and alternative onward travel should the car require further examination. A Certified Pre-Owned McLaren provides an opportunity for sportscar customers to enter the supercar segment. Prices of real-time, available CPO vehicles start at $89,991 for a 2012 MP4-12C - as advertised on the McLaren Certified Pre-Owned website - making supercar ownership possible at sportscar pricing. Other advertised models include 570S, 650S 675LT, and more. McLaren Certified Pre-Owned not only gives customers the practical benefits of buying and owning a McLaren, it also welcomes them to an exclusive owner’s experience. Ownership benefits include regular McLaren publications, access to the ever-expanding McLaren events calendar and the possibility of a guided visit to the McLaren Technology Centre and McLaren Production Centre in Woking, United Kingdom.
