New Look for the Demons More than half of the faces on the 2012 Demon Baseball team are new with head coach JP Davis bringing in 19 newcomers. Fourteen of those newcomers are juco transfers. Three of those look to make an opening day start. Nick Purdy looks to take over at catcher, Matt Burns at shortstop, and Matt Baca at left-field. Fourteen faces will be returners from the 2011 team including top position players Will Watson, Drew Helenihi, and Nick Hiniojos. Top Pitchers will include Joe Scanio, Colin Bear, and Mason Melotakis. Demons cover the map The NSU roster is filled with players that orginate from coast-to-coast and border-to-border. Coach Davis and staff have 19 players that call Texas home. That makes just over half of the roster from the state Seven players orginate from Louisiana while three come from Missouri, and two from California.
