Mountain Climbers • Last Week You Looked at Throwing, Catching and Hitting a Target Dear Kahlo and Riley class, It has been very different in school this week but so nice to see some familiar smiley faces! I can’t wait until we can all be back together again. I hope you have been enjoying the home learning slides and the story time videos. I was a mystery reader last week…did you see my story called ‘Look Up’? Check it out here if you missed it! https://youtu.be/Ewpd_OqFQVU Now that we are allowed to see some friends and family outside, at a distance, I met up with one of my best friends, Emma. It rained but we still kept to the rules and stayed outside! It was strange not to be able to give her a hug, but it was so nice to see her! We talked about all of the holidays and fun adventures we have had in the past and what we are looking forward to doing when things go back to normal. This month we would normally be celebrating international day in school with food from around the world and creative activities like traditional dancing, singing and crafts. Do you remember on international day last year we had a book bus visit? You all enjoyed exploring the books and some of you bought one to take home! Make sure you check out the audio book slide for some books to read virtually. On my last welcome slide I said I was reading Lord of the Rings. I have finished the first book and now I am reading ‘The Two Towers’ which is the next book in the trilogy. What are you reading at the moment? Keep sending your amazing home learning pictures to the admin email. I love seeing what you have been up to! Missing you all, Love Mrs Ahearn. xxx Dear Kahlo class, I’m feeling much more positive this week as I am getting into the swing of my new week of teaching at school on 2 days, and working from home on the others. Thank you to you all for making me smile and laugh so much; you brighten my days! This week, we have been busy taking our big shed down, ready for a new one. The garden looks a little worse for wear as you can see from the photo! We must have disturbed a lot of little insects as we have had many birds visiting to fill their bellies! My brother’s birthday was a success, although very different from the original plan of a big party in London – he loves tennis so I made him some tennis-themed Tennis cupcakes! cupcakes. I have also been busy catching up with my cousin and her husband on Zoom – we did quizzes for each other; her one was an unusual words spelling test and I scored 1 out of 10! There were some words I’d never heard of but, luckily, I love learning new words as you know - I’ll just have to do my homework and look them up! Missing you as always. Please keep the work and messages coming in; I love to see what you’ve been up to! We won’t be using our garden for a From Miss Meggitt xxx while! Did you get it right? It was a close-up of a kitchen sponge! = This week’s close-up! Have a go at guessing what this is a close-up photograph of…remember to give reasons for your answer. Thinking prompts: Man-made or natural? Edible or not? Dead or alive? Does the colour give a clue? Animate or inanimate? Every day item or unusual? WHY? Remember to give reasons for your thoughts! Dear Riley Class, Week two of some year 6 children being back in school and it has been so great to spend time with my ‘bubble’ and wave at Mr Morris’ ‘bubble’ from the hallway. We are called Blaze and Echo class, names based on the works of Bridget Riley. I am looking forward to phoning the children who are learning from home and the children in Echo class this week! I can’t wait to hear your voices and to find out what you have all been up to and which books you have been reading. This week Miss Meggitt reads the next part Book Recommendations: of ‘The Jam doughnut’; check out the link on the audio book slide. • Council Christmas Celebrities
O’ Little Star: Council Christmas celebrities Darwin Friend December 2019 Introduction The Christmas lights switch-on is an annual opportunity for communities to gather together and bring in the festive season. While these are community events, councils sometimes turn to celebrities to add some glamour, meaning a cost to the taxpayer for the fees of TV “stars”. This note shows that over £300,000 was spent between 2016 and 2019 by larger local authorities on celebrities to turn on Christmas lights. It is important to note that this figure is likely to be far higher because in many instances the responsibility for hosting this event falls upon local town or parish councils, which were not asked for information. Councils should ask celebrities to donate their time to help bring communities together. Alternatively, they should ask valued members of the community to turn on Christmas lights, at no cost to local taxpayers and to celebrate local achievements. Key findings . Between 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 local authorities in the UK spent more than £310,000 on celebrities turning on Christmas lights. Between 2016-2017 and 2018-2019, Perth and Kinross council spent the most on celebrities to switch on their Christmas lights with £155,250. These included the singers James Arthur, Fleur East and Alesha Dixon. Four local authorities spent more than £20,000 on their light switch-on events from 2016- 2017 to 2018-2019. Musical acts including X Factor contestants and finalists were paid the most between 2016- 2017 and 2018-2019 for Christmas light switch-on events, with 36 individuals or bands being paid a total of £194,588.

  • 2021 Breeze Show Choir Catalog
Previously Arranged Titles (updated 2/24/21) Specific details about each arrangement (including audio samples and cost) are available at https://breezetunes.com . The use of any of these arrangements requires a valid custom arrangement license purchased from https://tresonamusic.com . Their licensing fees typically range from $180 to $280 per song and must be paid before you can receive your music. Copyright approval frequently takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, so plan accordingly. If changes to the arrangement are desired, there is an additional fee of $100. Examples of this include re-voicing (such as from SATB to another voice part), rewriting band parts, making cuts, adding an additional verse, etc. **Arrangements may be transposed into a different key free of charge, provided that the change does not make re-voicing necessary** For songs that do not have vocal rehearsal tracks, these can be created for $150/song. To place an order, send an e-mail to [email protected] or submit a license request on Tresona listing Garrett Breeze as the arranger, Tips for success using Previously Arranged Titles: • Most arrangements can be made to work in any voicing, so don’t be afraid to look at titles written for other combinations of voices than what you have. Most SATB songs, for example, can be easily reworked for SAT. • Remember that show function is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing an arrangement. For example, if something is labelled in the catalog as a Song 2/4, it is probably not going to work as a closer.
