Hazard Mitigation Plan 2015 Progress Report Ada County Hazard Mitigation Plan Annual Progress Report Reporting Period: January 2014 to July 2015 Background: Ada County and its planning partners have developed its All Hazards Mitigation Plan to provide its vision for reducing its risk from all hazards by identifying resources, information, and strategies for risk reduction. Responding to programmatic requirements defined under the Disaster Mitigation act of 2000. This act required state and local governments to develop hazard mitigation plans as a condition for federal grant assistance. Over a 16 month period from March of 2010 to September of 2011, the partnership organized resources, assessed the risks to natural hazards within the planning area, developed planning goals and objectives, reviewed mitigation alternatives, and developed an action plan to address the probable impacts from natural hazards within The Ada County planning area. By completing this process, the Partnership has maintained its compliance with the parameters of the Disaster Mitigation Act, and thus leveraged hazard mitigation grant funding opportunities afforded under the Robert T. Stafford Act. Copies of the plan are available to the public throughout the Ada County Public Library system and it can be viewed on-line at: https://adacounty.id.gov/accem/Mitigation Summary Overview of the plan’s progress The performance period for the ACHMP became effective on December 22, 2011, with the final approval of the plan by FEMA region X. The initial performance period for this plan will be 5 years, with an anticipated update to the plan to occur in 2016. -

This Wildfire Plan was developed to assist this community in dealing with the wide variety of wildfire hazards that exist locally. By training on and following this plan emergency responders can reduce the danger to themselves and the general public and lessen the likelihood and extent of damage to property and the environment. It is to be used in conjunction with the existing Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) and standard operating procedures maintained by the local jurisdictions and special purpose districts. Using the EOPs as the foundation for response permits the already established processes for multi- agency and multi-jurisdictional coordination to be implemented during a wildfire emergency.
