Finland has many potential attractions starting from places of natural beauty to cultural and ancient heritage that can be more developed in the Finnish tourism industry which provides employment, tax, and export income and increases welfare throughout Finland. Lapland is one of the most important regions of Finland for tourism business which was highlighted through this study. The study exposed to encourage tourism development in Finland especially in Lapland area and to motivate people for participating in tourism development activities as well as changing their economic situation through tourism development in Finland. The main task of study is to find out the factors for developing tourism and socio- economical effect of tourism in Finland, as well as developing the destination especially in Lapland. The study was based on both the qualitative and quantitative research method where secondary data was used from different sources as quantitative research and where the qualitative research method included semi-structured interviews and observation. In this research study six interviews were taken by the researcher as a part of the survey activities.

These changes included integration services organised into modules that could be more easily combined into a tailored package of measures and the introduction of the Social Impact Bond to harness private finance in support of integration. If effective in ensuring Finland’s migrants are well integrated in society and on the labour market, these investments will help to alleviate the ageing-related challenges the country expects in the coming years.. This chapter provides the context for the report outlining i) the integration context, and the characteristics and composition of Finland’s foreign-born population that influence their integration outcomes, as well as the labour market context and challenges this presents, before turning to ii) the recent developments in integration policy in Finland. In many countries, tourism forms an integral part of economic development through job creation, infrastructural investments, and income provision. One of the root causes for global tourism growth has been the industrial revolution in Great Britain around the 19th century. This was characterized by a transition from hand production to use of machinery, including improved steam and water power, emergence of textile industry, new modes of iron production, which all became known as factory system. Entrepreneurship and consumerism served as driving forces for the industrial revolution which then expanded around the world. By the 20th century, the movement of people across regions enhanced following improvements in transportation. However, the revolution also meant an increase demand for workers in factories. Apart from industrial work, leisure accounted for movement of people during breaks from work. Although mass movement may result to income growth, it equally raises pertinent questions of how environments are constructed to suit the needs of people arriving, what kind of threats emerge from such destinations and perhaps what can be done to address such problems? Thus, this paper uses a review of web-based texts and critical tourism approach to seek an understanding of tourism from different perspectives which address the potentials and threats in tourism.

Tutkielman aineisto koostuu Matkailun edistämiskeskuksen julkaisemista englanninkielisistä Suomen yleisesitteistä vuosien 1973 ja 2008 väliltä. Tutkielmassa pyritään sisällönanalyysin keinoin selvittämään minkälaisia representaatioita Suomeen liitetään, millaisia teemoja ne muodostavat ja muuttuvatko nämä ajan myötä. Aineiston luonteen vuoksi valittuun näkökulmaan yhdistyy diskurssintutkimuksen lisäksi elementtejä markkinoinnista sekä matkailun tutkimuksesta. Aineistosta poimittiin Suomea ja suomalaisuutta kuvaavia sanallisia otteita, jotka vaihtelivat yksittäisistä sanoista kokonaisiin kappaleisiin. Nämä representaatiot kerättiin kattotermien alle teemoiksi, jotka puolestaan jaoteltiin neljän kokemuksellisen markkinoinnin mukaisiin kokemuspiireihin. Näin muodostuneita abstraktioita tutkittiin sosiaalisina käytänteinä, ts. kuinka jokaisessa piirissä neljä tilastollisesti yleisintä teemaa rakentaa Suomea ja suomalaisuutta turistille.
