PVAMU pummeled the Tigers in the 2018 Aug. 31st at Texas Southern 7 p.m. - ESPN3 contest to win 60-14 (11/24), the largest margin of victory over TSU in school history. The Week 2 Panthers have outscored Texas Southern 157-66 over the past four meetings. Sept. 7th at Houston 7 p.m. - ESPN3 Week 3 TIGERS AT A GLANCE: The Tigers finished the 2018 season 2-9 and finished 1-9 in Sept. 14th Nicholls State 6 p.m. conference play completing the seaon tied fourth in the SWAC Western Division. Clarence Week 4 Sept. 21st at Alcorn State 6 p.m. - ESPN3 McKinney will be in his first season as head coach of the Tigers, McKinney spent time with Week 5 (State Fair Classic) Texas A&M and most recently the University of Arizonia where he was Associate Head Sept. 28th Grambling State 4 p.m. Coach and the running backs coach. Week 6 Oct. 12th at Southern 6 p.m. - ESPN3 THE DOOLEY ERA ENTERS YEAR #2: The Eric Dooley era began on December 22, 2017. Week 7 (Homecoming) In his first season as the head coach of the Panthers, the team finished with a 5-6 over- Oct 19th Virginia - Lynchburg 2 p.m. all record and was 4-3 in conference play. He earned his first win during the SWAC-MEAC Week 8 Challange with a 40-24 win against North Carolina Centeral. He earned his second win Oct. 24th Jackson State 6:30 p.m. - ESPNU at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff with a dominating 62-13 final score. Dooley then Week 9 beat Grambling 22-16 at the 93rd State Fair Classic. He captured his first home win Nov. 9th Arkansas - Pine Bluff 2 p.m. scoring a season high point win of 66-13 against Alabama State. Dooley finished out the Week 10 Nov. 16th Edward Waters 2 p.m. 2018 season with a dominant 60-14 win against Texas Southern. Additionally, PVAMU finished second in rushing offense (2,224 yards gained, Oct. 13 Southern L, 0-38 202.2 rushing YPG) and total offense with 5,049 total yards and (459 YPG). HENRY MENS ALL SPORTS AWARD: The Prairie View A&M Nov. 3 at Jackson State L, 28-34 men’s sports team were recognized for their overall accomplishments after the men’s Nov. 17 Alabama State W, 66-13 basketball team won the 2019 SWAC conference Championship as well as the men’s golf team. The C.D. Henry Award is presented to the best overall men’s program in the SWAC. Nov. 24 Texas Southern W, 60-14 After winning outright during the 2017-18 season, the Panthers share the 2018-19 honor with the Hornets of Alabama State.
