Designated as special charter District 78 in 1863. Reformed in 1952 as Elementary District 78 and High School District 107. Consolidated as Unit District 203 in 1972. PREFACE The following summary history of the public school system in Naperville, lUinois was compiled and written by Phoebe Bickhaus, District 203 public information coordinator. The history is far from complete, but is as accurate as possible, thanks to notes taken from the sources listed below, among others. Suggestions and additional data that will make this history more complete and/or accurate are welcome and will be compiled with records of future events in the unfolding saga of public education in District 203.
