All sheep to be Maedi Visna accredited flocks and must be accompanied by the relevant documentation 2. All female sheep MUST BE FULLY REGISTERED and all male sheep to be fully registered or birth notified and thereby eligible for full registration with the Texel Sheep Society. 3. All sheep entries should clearly show whether the animal is single, twin, triplet, quad, etc. or ET and this information to be clearly shown in the Sale Catalogue. 4. Adult sheep entered at Shows and Sales under the auspices of the Texel Sheep Society must be bare clipped after 1 st April each year. 5. All sheep will be subject to a club inspection. Regarding the inspection of Sheep (Teeth and Testicles for Rams; Teeth and Udders for Females) for the North West Texel Breeders’ Clubs Sales, there will be an independent inspector present at all sales. The inspector has authority to disqualify any sheep which in his opinion fail to meet the required standard. The decision of the inspectors shall be final. Mr Ian Lancaster has accepted the invitation to be the independent inspector for the North West Texel Breeders’ Club at all sales. A Committee Member will accompany Mr Ian Lancaster during the inspection. Sheep which have failed inspection cannot be put forward for the show. 6. No dressing, artificial whitening, clipping or excessive use of dips on the fleeces of sheep will be permitted. An inspector may be present at the sale with the authority to disqualify any sheep, which in his opinion , are below a minimum standard with regard to breed type or are found to be contravening the Society Bye-laws, right up to the point of sale. The decision of the inspector shall be final and failure to accept the inspector’s decision will result in the entire consignment being rejected. 7. All sheep shall be penned by 3.00 p.m. on Monday 7 th September, 2015. 4 8. The Society requires that all pedigree Texel sheep carry two different forms of identification, each clearly identifying the Society flock book number for that animal. Pedigree Texels can be identified with a tag plus a tattoo, two separate tags. Any animal with indistinct identification or carrying one form of identification will be rejected unless the Society has been notified in advance of the inspection and a dispensation certificate accompanies the animal to the point of inspection. All sheep must carry one Electronic Identity 9. The categories of sheep offered for sale will be defined on the entry form. 10. If any animal offered for sale has had semen or embryo’s collected from it the number of embryo’s/amount of semen in storage must be declared at point of sale. 11. The purchaser shall have no right to claim damages from the vendor in respect of indirect or consequential loss such as (but not limited to) loss of profit or any other loss whatsoever. 12. The Texel Sheep Society reserves the right to blood sample any sheep and/or take wool samples for forensic testing. 13. Prize winners at the show prior to sale, which subsequently leave the ring unsold, forfeit all trophies and prize money awarded. 14. Once inspected, an animal must remain in the sale yard until offered for sale. 15. All sheep sold in guineas. All sheep sold at sales organised by the Society’s recognised Clubs will be subject to the Society’s levy amounting to 0.5% of the gross sale price, in addition a levy of 0.5% will be collected by the Club and the Auctioneers Commission. 16. There will be a minimum bid price of 180gns for Ram Lambs, 180gns for Shearling Rams and 180gns for Shearling Ewes 17. Scrapie Genotyping is no longer mandatory. If the Genotyping is declared in the sale catalogue or at point of sale and subsequently found to be incorrect, for whatever reason the purchaser shall have the right to return the animal and to claim the full purchase price from the vendor 18.     District Deprivation Summary South Lakeland 2015 The Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) The IMD are produced by the Department for Communities & Local Government (DCLG) to consider the unmet needs of small areas, known as Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs), caused by a lack of resources of across seven domains: Income; Employment; Education Skills and Training; Health and Disability; Crime; Barriers to Housing and Services; and Living Environment. In addition to the above, there are two supplementary indices: The Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI); and The Income Deprivation Affecting Older People Index (IDAOPI). Deprivation scores for each LSOA across all of the above domains are also combined to create an overall Index of Multiple Deprivation score and rank for each LSOA. When deprivation scores are combined for all LSOAs in South Lakeland, the district is classified as the least deprived district in Cumbria for overall deprivation and falls within the 25% least deprived nationally for overall deprivation. South Lakeland is also the 3rd least deprived district in England in terms of crime deprivation. However, the district falls within the 20% most deprived nationally in relation to living environment deprivation (ranked 45th). None of the LSOAs in South Lakeland rank within the 10% most deprived of areas in England for overall deprivation. Figure 1 plots each LSOA in the district shaded according to overall deprivation scores; areas shaded in red represent communities that are in the 10% most deprived of areas in England, while areas shaded in dark green represent communities that are in the 10% least deprived of areas in England.

    South Lakeland District Council Flooding in South Lakeland - Full Council, February 24th 2016 – Appendix 1 Introduction 1.1. This report is presented to brief Members on the current situation of the flooding impacts and recovery. The report summarises the role of the Council in the context of multi-agency response to the emergency and recovery, the financial impacts of the flood on the Council’s budget and delivery impacts on the Councils work. 2. The flood event 2.1. The severe flooding which resulted during storm Desmond 4-6th December was exacerbated by the already very wet ground conditions brought about by storms Abigail 12-13th November, Barney 17-18th November and Clodagh 29th November. Many parts of north-west Britain had already recorded more than twice the monthly average rainfall during November. Across north-west England and North Wales, November 2015 was the second wettest November in a series from 1910; only November 2009 was wetter. 2.2. Storm Desmond delivered exceptionally high rainfall totals across the Cumbrian fells. 341.4mm of rain fell at Honister Pass, Cumbria, on 5 December 2015, a new UK rainfall record. About 120 weather and flood related alerts were received between12th Nov 2015 to Christmas Day. The paths taken by the exceptional storms differed only slightly - with Cumbria narrowly escaping the immediate impacts of storms Eva and Frank 2.3. These floods followed severe flooding affecting Cumbria in November 2009 and the major floods in Carlisle in January 2005. 3. Residential properties affected 3.1. Kendal – In total 1,401 properties were affected in Kendal, accounting for 72% of all affected properties across the district.

THIS NOTICE is issued by the South Lakeland District Council ("the Council"} because it appears to them that there has been a breach of planning control, within paragraph (a) of Section 171A(1) of the above Act, at the land described below. They consider that it is expedient to issue this notice, having regard to the provisions of the development plan and to other material planning considerations. The Annex at the end of the notice and the enclosures to which it refers contain important additional information. 2. THE LAND TO WHICH THE NOTICE RELATES:- Land at Moss End, Crooklands, Near Milnthorpe, Cumbria LA7 7NU as shown edged red on attached plan ("the Land"). 3. THE MATTERS WHICH APPEAR TO CONSTITUTE THE BREACH OF PLANNING CONTROL Without planning permission, material change of use of the land from agricultural use to a mixed use for agriculture and use for siting and storage of a caravan used for residential purposes. 4. REASONS FOR ISSUING THIS NOTICE It appears to the Council that the above breach of planning control has occurred within the last ten years. The caravan is an intrusive visual feature that has an adverse impact on this rural area which is a main route into the Lake District. The use of the caravan is also having an adverse impact on the neighbouring commercial units. The unauthorised development is contrary to Policy H5 and T6 of the adopted South Lakeland Local Plan, Policy E37 of the Cumbria and Lake District Joint Structure Plan and National Planning Policy Statement 7.

    South Lakeland District Council Council Tuesday, 27 July 2021 2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies Portfolio: Leader of the Council Report from: Director of Strategy, Innovation and Resources Report Author: Simon McVey – Operational Lead Support Services Wards: All Forward Plan: N/A Links to Council Plan Priorities: N/A – this is a national consultation on Parliamentary Constituencies. 1.0 Expected Outcome and Measures of Success To inform Members of the proposals of the Boundary Commission for England (BCE) in relation to the 2023 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies and how they will affect South Lakeland and to determine the Council’s response to the consultation. 2.0 Recommendation 2.1 It is recommended that Council :- (1) Note the initial proposals of the Boundary Commission for England in relation to the Parliamentary Constituencies in South Lakeland; (2) Endorse the consultation responses as outlined in Appendix 5; (3) Authorise the Director of Strategy, Innovation and Resources to submit the response to the consultation to the Boundary Commission for England by the 2 August 2021 deadline. 3.0 Background and Proposals 3.1 The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has the task of periodically reviewing all Parliamentary constituencies in England. A review is currently being undertaken and being conducted in accordance with rules laid down by Parliament. 3.2 The aim of the review is to make constituencies more equal in terms of the numbers of electors each contains as, due to population changes since the last review, the number of electors in some constituencies is much higher than in others. The BCE is required by legislation to equalise the number of electors in each constituency and, in the North West of England, is proposing 73 constituencies, a reduction of 2 from the current number.
