Bob Hughes Vice President, Supplier Relations & Expositions
March 30, 2018 Dear Members of the Nominating Committee: I am looking forward to our Nominating Committee during the NACS State of the Industry Summit and working with you to populate the board with qualified and diversified candidates. In the April meeting, we will select new, eager suppliers for the NACS Supplier Board. Along with deciding who the new members will be, we will have some challenges as you decide who moves up, who doesn’t and who, unfortunately, will rotate off. Decision One We promote Dave Riser to the chair. I would hope that is obvious, but we still need to vote him up. Decision Two Vice chairs in their 2nd (last term) are Tim Quinn and Drew Mize. Tim recently announced his retirement from Mars Wrigley (May 2018). With this information, we should consider promoting Drew to chair-elect. The other Vice Chair is Rick Brindle, who will be finishing just his first term and can remain Vice Chair for another year. Decision Three We currently have 21 of our allowed 25 supplier seats open (due to retirements or role changes). We like to have 1 or 2 seats open to give the supplier board flexibility to adjust and add a major CPG company or manpower if we are struggling on an initiative. We should also have two available Vice Chair seats, unless we promoted Rick which would give us three openings. The 2015 class that will term off in October 2018 are Brent Cotten and Frank Squilla. Both are very strong contributors that will hopefully find their way up to Vice Chair. -

PUBLICATION: ESPN.Com DATE: 1/20/15
PUBLICATION: ESPN.com DATE: 1/20/15 Best of 2014-15 season's first half By: ESPN.com We're halfway home in 2014-15. Who's been tearing it up thus far? Our esteemed panelists make their picks for the best of the NBA season's first half. 1. Which is the best team of the season's first half? J.A. Adande: Golden State Warriors . It's rare we can slap the label of "best" alongside "most entertaining," but the Warriors consistently play fun games -- and consistently win them. When Andrew Bogut joins Stephen Curry , Klay Thompson , Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes in the starting lineup, the Warriors are 22-1. Bogut brings the interior defense to go with the Warriors' stellar backcourt. Bring back the "We Believe" -- only this time it's time to believe the Warriors can win it all, not just a series. Kevin Arnovitz: Golden State Warriors. Versatility is golden. When you have four or five guys on the floor for 48 minutes who can move the ball, shoot from distance, defend multiple positions and make sound decisions, it's difficult to lose. That's increasingly true with or without a healthy Andrew Bogut, although they're a better team when he's on the floor. Tom Haberstroh: Golden State Warriors, with the NBA's nastiest defense by a mile and an offense that's even scarier as of late. They're 22-1 with Andrew Bogut and Klay Thompson in the starting lineup, and they're averaging 118.6 points over their past 10 games. -
Dislocated Hip Nothing New for Rahlves,Scotty
Dislocated hip nothing new for Rahlves By ESPN ASPEN, Colo. — U.S. Olympic freestyle skier Daron Rahlves dislocated his right hip after a nasty wreck in his opening skicross race Sunday at the Winter X Games, an injury that could hurt his chances of going to Vancouver. But a doctor who checked him out at the scene was optimistic about Rahlves’ prognosis after the crash that resulted in the 36-year-old’s fourth hip dislocation. Daron Rahlves Rahlves, slated for his fourth Olympics, was putting pressure on the hip only hours after the accident. U.S. Ski and Snowboard officials said he was treated for a hip injury at the hospital and released late Sunday afternoon. The doctor who treated him after the wreck said the fact this is Rahlves’ fourth dislocation should make the injury more manageable. Read the whole story Scotty Bahrke leads U.S. in World Cup aerials By USSA MONT GABRIEL, Quebec City — Scotty Bahrke (Tahoe City, CA) took a season-best ninth place to lead the U.S. Team in FIS World Cup Cup aerials action Saturday in Quebec.
