APRIL ALLEGORY: The Curve finished April with a record of 12-12. The club has finished the first month of the season .500 or better nine times and gone on to reach the Eastern League playoffs after the last eight instances. The only Curve team that missed the postseason after a .500 or better start through April was in 2002 when the club started 12-12. One Altoona squad has reached the playoffs after a sub-.500 start, which was in 2016 after a 9-13 beginning. April is the only full month of the season in which the Curve franchise owns a losing record, currently standing at 222-238 overall. CURVE COMMAND: Altoona pitchers have issued 54 walks through 24 games in April, the fewest free passes in all of Minor League Baseball. The starting rotation has limited their walks to 23 on the campaign, the lowest total at Double-A through 130.1 innings and the third-best in the minors behind starting pitchers for Dunedin (A-Adv. GETTING OFFENSIVE: The Curve offense has found it's rhythm over the last six games with 35 runs on 58 hits, in- cluding 24 extra-base knocks, and a 17-for-61 (.279) mark with men in scoring position.
