This was an important event in the life of Jesus and the salvation history of mankind. The submission of Jesus to baptism by John with water as an act of repentance and reform was very significant to the men who wrote the Gospels many years after the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. The humility of the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity to be baptized by the man who, by his own testimony, was “A voice of one crying out in the desert: Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths” is an example for us. Are we humble like Jesus? Are we aware of our mission like John? Are we willing to repent for the times we have failed to accept our mission and acknowledge that everything we have and everything we ever will be is a gift from God that He wants us to use for our own benefit and the benefit of others? Can we be humble like Jesus, particularly in difficult times? The peer group was assessed through qualitative analysis to understand the ways in which the organization is able to facilitate students’ academic and social integration into the university despite their experiences with institutional racism and microaggressions. Using Vincent Tinto’s Theory (1975) and Critical Race Theory, this research finds that African American men are better able to retain within the university when the peer group’s staff proactively addresses the challenges that the students bring with them into their university experience; facilitates the students’ bond with racially similar, male students within the group; and adopts a “like family” approach towards academically and socially supporting students.

But no sooner do we think that than we wonder: But how do I find out what His plan is for me? When we think it out, we come to the conclusion that there’s a difference between the “Big Picture Plan” and the “Personal Life Plan.” The Big Picture Plan is clearly spelled out in Scripture. Christ was born to the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, preached the Gospel, healed the sick, and raised the dead. He was betrayed into the hands of evil (and jealous) men, who killed Him. But the grave could not hold Him. He rose again on the third day to demonstrate His victory over sin, death, and hell.
