Bit at the Front - Neil Denby Get it General meetings - of companies, institu or regulated - especially not while the tions, running clubs, trade unions, associa Golden Rule is still open - but the sport on disk!! tions - are often the way in which pressure does need administering and we would be and interest groups manage to make their a poorer sport without the people who The Association has bought some influence felt. The FRA AGM last year take on the jobs and functions listed on right expensive computer could quite easily have been held upstairs page 2. Our membership is around 4000; equipment to try to drag us into the at Rock and Run and it is perhaps a surely more than 1% can make the effort 20th century. If you can provide sobering thought to realise that had any to turn up and make their views felt?? articles etc. on 3+" discs of DOS or group of individuals wanted, for instance, Boulsworth Hill or Lad Law, an outcrop DFS format (not Unix); preferably to vote that their club should receive all of the Pennine Chain, a remote moorland, in ASCII; then we can handle them FRA membership money, it would not an area of natural beauty, a hill rich in easily - the amount of stuff that have taken many of them to make it stick! history and legend - and a private shooting comes that is obviously a computer I realise that as fellrunners we are free fiefdom for Lord Savile - is this really the print out is growing but still needs spirits and have no wish to be organised 20th century? SIXTH ISSUE - NOVEMBER, 1975 Editorial, We have made it at last with another issue! As a newcomer to the association it has taken me a while to get straightened out and ah issue in May this year just was not possible. It is however my intention to publish every 6 months from now on if funds permit and you continue with the flood of excellent material. I am sure that you will enjoy reading this issue as much as I have enjoyed compiling it from the great quantity and quality of reports and articles sent in. Please accept my apology if your particular contri bution has not appeared. Some reports have been duplicated, some material has dated in the passage of time and some has just had to be held over for the next issue because of limited space. To post all your copies would have cost over half as much again as the cost of producing this issue so I hope you will bear with us if you do not all receive your copies at once. This last summer Season has seen a considerable amount of activity, particularly in Lakeland whers it seems that runners may soon be outnumbering the more leisurely walker; This issue contains reports on most of the outstanding activities of the summer including, of course, Joss Naylor’s incredible 24 hour record.
