12 th and 13 th October 2019

“Taste of Egypt” The Coptic Orthodox Church is celebrating the annual FETFETEE In mid of October 2019. It is our pleasure to invite all the scouts’ venturers to comecome and join us the big day to learn about the great history of ancient Egypt and the beginning of the Coptic OrthOrthodoxodox Church, beside a lot of fun and the delicious Egyptian food. The Coptic Orthodox Church is one of the oldest traditional churches and has a heritage that belong to Jesus Christ and his Apostles, specifically St. Mark (Martyred in year 60AC). “Ideals Visit” includes and introduction to the Christian Faith ppluslus open Q&AQ&A.... Ventures and their families are warmly welcome to join us in these 2 days. Saturday, 12 ththth October 2019 from 1:30 to 3Pm Sunday, 13 ththth October 2019 from 2 to 4Pm Ventures are able to appapplyly an Ideals visit badge. Uniform recommended.recommended. Please bring your red book to get it signed.

‘Ideals Visit’ Background: The Copts are an ethnoreligious group indigenous to Northeast Africa who primarily inhabit the area of modern Egypt, where they are the largest Christian denomination in the country. Historically, they spoke the Coptic language, a direct descendant of the Demotic Egyptian that was spoken in late antiquity. Copts in Egypt constitute the largest Christian population in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the largest religious minority in the region. Most Copts adhere to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, an Oriental Orthodox church. The smaller Coptic Catholic Church is an Eastern Catholic church in communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
