Guidebooks are one of the four components of the Forest Practices Code. The others are the Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act, the regulations, and the standards. The Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act is the legislative umbrella authorizing the Code’s other components. It enables the Code, establishes mandatory requirements for planning and forest practices, sets enforcement and penalty provisions, and specifies administrative arrangements. The regulations lay out the forest practices that apply province-wide. The chief forester may establish standards, where required, to expand on a regulation. Both regulations and standards are mandatory requirements under the Code. Forest Practices Code guidebooks have been developed to support the regulations, however, only those portions of guidebooks cited in regulation are part of the legislation.

Rainstorms are caused by distinct synoptic-scale circulation patterns: Mediterranean cyclone (MC), active Red Sea trough (ARST), and subtropical jet stream (STJ) disturbances, also termed tropical plumes (TPs). The unique spatiotemporal char- acteristics of rainstorms and floods for each circulation pattern were identified. Meteorological reanalyses, quantitative precipitation estimates from weather radars, hydrological data, and indicators of geomorphic changes from remote sensing imagery were used to characterize the chain of hydrometeorological processes leading to distinct flood patterns in the region. Significant differences in the hydrometeorology of these three flood-producing synoptic systems were identified: MC storms draw moisture from the Mediterranean and generate moderate rainfall in the northern part of the region. ARST and TP storms transfer large amounts of moisture from the south, which is converted to rainfall in the hyperarid southernmost parts of the Levant.

    Revised May 23, 2019 U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Monthly Assistance Allowance for Disabled Veterans Training in Paralympic and Olympic Sports Program (VMAA) In partnership with the United States Olympic Committee and other Olympic and Paralympic entities within the United States, VA supports eligible service and non-service-connected military Veterans in their efforts to represent the USA at the Paralympic Games, Olympic Games and other international sport competitions. The VA Office of National Veterans Sports Programs & Special Events provides a monthly assistance allowance for disabled Veterans training in Paralympic sports, as well as certain disabled Veterans selected for or competing with the national Olympic Team, as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 322(d) and Section 703 of the Veterans’ Benefits Improvement Act of 2008. Through the program, VA will pay a monthly allowance to a Veteran with either a service-connected or non-service-connected disability if the Veteran meets the minimum military standards or higher (i.e. Emerging Athlete or National Team) in his or her respective Paralympic sport at a recognized competition. In addition to making the VMAA standard, an athlete must also be nationally or internationally classified by his or her respective Paralympic sport federation as eligible for Paralympic competition. The road platforms are mainly composed of a background soil, which is gener- ally overlapped by a surface layer that plays two roles. Firstly, it protects the soil structure, en- sures the leveling, and facilitates the movement of vehicles. Secondly, it brings harmony in the mechanistic characteristics of the materials that compose the soil while improving the long-term life force. The methodology consisted in taking samples of subgrade soil along the roads all over the region of Thies in a 5 km diameter span. The identification tests allowed the Thies-Tivaoune, Thies-Khombole and Thies-Noto axes are characterized by tight sands, poorly graded size. While Thies Pout-axis is characteristic of severe solid particle size and spread well graded and serious to spread and well graded particle size.

In neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE), autoimmune responses against neural self-antigens find expression in neurological and cognitive alterations. SLE autoanti- bodies often target nucleic acids, including RNAs and specifically RNA domains with higher-order structural content. We report that autoantibodiesdirectedagainstneuronalregulatorybraincytoplasmic(BC)RNAsweregeneratedinasubsetofSLEpatients.Bycontrast, anti-BC RNA autoantibodies (anti-BC abs) were not detected in sera from patients with autoimmune diseases other than SLE (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis or multiple sclerosis) or in sera from healthy subjects with no evidence of disease. SLE anti-BC abs belong to the IgG class of immunoglobulins and target both primate BC200 RNA and rodent BC1 RNA. They are specifically directed at architectural motifs in BC RNA 5Ј stem–loop domains that serve as dendritic targeting elements (DTEs). SLE anti-BC abs effectively compete with RNA transport factor heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A2 (hnRNP A2) for DTE access and significantly diminish BC RNA delivery to synapto-dendritic sites of function.
