North Valley Sports Booster Club (NVSBC) Can Help Cheer Expenses Stressing You Out? North Valley Sports Booster Club (NVSBC) can help NNNorth VVValley SSSports BBBooster CCClub is a non-profit (501c3) organization that was formed in 2007 to promote participation in extra-curricular sports activities by youth in our community. We offer various fundraising opportunities throughout the year such as direct sales with candy, cookie dough and candles. We also provide unique and profitable opportunities working as volunteers with various concessions companies. We work directly with sports groups to provide fundraising opportunities. We have an opportunity to work a merchandise stand at the Concord Pavilion this 2014 season. We are looking for a commitment of at least 10- 15 people who are interested in making money to help with the cost of cheer expenses and are committed and reliable to work the concerts. If we are not able to staff this stand we will not have the opportunity to work future venues. This volunteer opportunity can earn you anywhere between $50- $200 dollars per concert. For more information: Contact Darla Devlin or Jeanette Suzan @ [email protected] Concert Dates are below and require commitment of 10 people per event. We offer various fundraising opportunities throughout the year such as direct sales with candy, cookie dough and candles. Please review this packet and if you have any questions please contact us. We are looking forward to worki ng with you this year. North Valley Sports Booster Club [email protected] Frequently Asked Questions How does it work? NVSBC is here to help with the extraordinary costs involved with amateur sports for the youth in our area. We provide scholarship assistance to youth groups to help them offer an excellent program to youth in their area that may not otherwise afford participation. To provide this service NVSBC organizes dedicated volunteers like you to raise the necessary funds. Is there a membership fee? NVSBC i s a volunteer organization. We ask all of our volunteers to contribute an initial fee to cover operating costs such as insurance and information distribution. For 2014-2015 the fee is $35. What will the money earned by NVSBC be used for? The money that our volunteers earn can be used for expenses related to the sport teams that we sponsor. It can be used for registration, uniforms, competition fees, etc. Money will ONLY be paid to a sports team or organization. We can NOT pay out monies to individual people. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS for this as it can cause us to have our 501c3 status revoked, without this status many of our fundraising opportunities would not be available to us. What if we no longer participate with North Valley Sports Booster Club? If you choose to leave NVSBC, all of the funds that were raised by your volunteer hours will be returned to the booster club’s general fund to support our non-profit purpose, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS . What if I have a fundraising idea that you are not currently providing? If you know of an opportunity, or have a great fundraising idea, please let us know! We are always looking for new and exciting ways to fundraise and make our program successful. We always look at our schedule, interest of our members, liability and profitability of each opportunity when deciding if a fundraiser is right for us. Take a look at what we have planned for this year. Concessions and Volunteer Positions Concessions fundraising is a privilege that is given to our booster club because of our 501c3 status. In order to remain in good standing with the companies that provide this opportunity and to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to volunteer, we have established guidelines for all volunteers to follow. Please review the guidelines thoroughly. Mandatory Commitments You must attend training to be a member of NVSBC. These trainings will be provided by the venues and the Venue Stand Manager, which in this case is Darla Devlin and/or Jeanette Suzan. Communication All scheduling will be done VIA EMAIL . Please check your junk mail settings, and add [email protected] & [email protected] to your safe sender’s list. Opportunity Email You will receive an “Opportunity” email asking if you want to volunteer and stating how many volunteers are needed. This email will include the venue and the date only. Event Assignments As responses are received, they will be numbered IN THE ORDER THEY ARE RECEIVED. Everyone will be assigned events based on availability and the order emails are received. The verification email will be sent out as soon as the event is fully staffed. The schedule is non fluid and should be treated as such. Verification Email Once you have committed to an event, you will receive a “Verification” email. This email will include the venue address, event arrival time, dress code and all pertinent information needed for a successful volunteer shift. It will verify your participation. Late availability If you do not get your availability in before the deadline set in the email, we will not be able to guarantee you a position. We cannot hold the schedule for anyone. We have a deadline to get this information to venue. Absences/Substitutes If you have an issue that arises where you need to give up your shift for an event, it is your responsibility to contact the Coordinator as soon as the issue arises. The coordinator will work with you to find a replacement. If you do not show up for your shift YOU will be responsible for any fees that are assessed by the Venue. The fee can be anywhere between $55 and $75 dollars. Venue Policies Both venues have policies that must be adhered to. The policies will be communicated via “verification” email before each event. They are as follows: • Dress Code • Starting and Ending time for each event • TEAM and/or TIPS certification requirement • Parking and Directions Concord Pavilion (Sleeptrain Amphitheatre) Below is the tentative schedule for the 2014 concert series at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Concord. Signed Name of student: Claudia Gielis Gielis /3 Abstract Masculinity and femininity can be performed in many ways. The emo genre explores a variety of ways in which gender can be performed. Theories on gender, masculinity and femininity will be used to analyze both the lyrics and the music videos of these two bands, indicating how they perform gender lyrically and visually. Likewise a short introduction on emo music will be given, to gain a better understanding of the genre and the subculture. It will become clear that the emo subculture allows for men and women to explore their own identity. This is reflected in the music associated to the emo genre as well as their visual representation in their music videos. This essay will explore how both a male fronted band, My Chemical Romance, and a female fronted band, Paramore, perform gender. All studio albums and official music videos will be used to investigate how they have performed gender throughout their career.

So normal that, while talking to her, you almost forget that while your average Tuesday-night plans revolve around watching House Hunters, hers might consist of playing a sold-out show at Lon- don’s Wembley Arena.

HISTORICAL CALENDAR 2017Chicago Transit Authority A horse drawn omnibus, originally operated by the Citizen’s Line circa 1853, is displayed at West Shops at Pulaski and Lake. These early transit vehicles were quite primitive, barely just a notch above stagecoaches – little more than hard, wooden bench seats were provided on either side of very sparsely appointed coaches, with no heat, light, or other amenities. It is hard to believe that, from such humble beginnings, Chicago would one day have the second largest public transit system in North America, as it does today. Oral history is a method of collecting historical information through tape-recorded interviews between a narrator with firsthand knowledge of historically significant events and a well-informed interviewer, with the goal of preserving substantive additions to the historical record. The tape recording is transcribed, lightly edited for continuity and clarity, and reviewed by the interviewee. The corrected manuscript is indexed, bound with photographs and illustrative materials, and placed in The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley, and in other research collections for scholarly use. Because it is primary material, oral history is not intended to present the final, verified, or complete narrative of events. It is a spoken account, offered by the interviewee in response to questioning, and as such it is reflective, partisan, deeply involved, and irreplaceable. ************************************ All uses of this manuscript are covered by a legal agreement between The Regents of the University of California and Garniss Curtis, dated July 29, 2002.
