2 INTRODUCING GIRL POW-R

Girl Pow-R is an all-girl pop rock band. The group consists of very talented young girls (ages 10 to 17) who create & sing original music, cover songs, play instruments, as well as dance! However, even more importantly, in today’s complicated world, Girl Pow-R’s mission is to provide young people around the world with a framework and model about how to be successful, and how to identify their own true gifts. The goal is to be empowered to do more with those gifts!

Girl Pow-R was symbolically formed on International Women’s Day in 2017, when the motto was #BeBoldForChange. The band’s music provides an opportunity for the voices of these young women in their pre-teen to early teen years to speak to their peers in a fresh, new voice. The group has a unique mission to inspire young people and to support social causes with their music, positive messages, and age-appropriate lyrics. The girls in Girl Pow-R write their music about being confident, empowered and strong. It is imperative that we show that we each can be better by being resilient and not letting things stop us!

3 The passion to help others and inspire the world has driven each and every member of Girl Pow-R to do more, and to actively participate in a social cause. With both a Varsity and a JV squad, Girl Pow-R is already helping to support social causes in many areas. Here is a sampling of their social causes:

Girl Pow-R invests heavily in the training of our girls in the fundamentals required to be authentically successful in the music industry, i.e., songwriting, training as multi-instrumentalists, working together as a band, creating their own choreography, choosing and singing harmonies, interviewing and presentation skills, perfecting their vocal talents above all, and hours and hours of hard work.

With six original songs already launched, Girl Pow-R debuted their first album in the summer of 2019, called ‘This Is Us’!

Girl Pow-R’s sound is rooted in Pop-Rock, with the goal of inspiring others to be their best, through their songs’ music and lyrics. Too often, young people are influenced by the thoughts and life experiences of singers and musicians who are in their late teens and their 20’s. It’s time to give young people an alternative to these messages.
