Moock tria I team-- _7 Ranks first for nationals by Tresha Lindo FAMUAN Staff Writer

Florida A&M University's first mock trial team qualified for the American Mock Trial Assocation's national championships in Des Moines, Iowa this Saturday and Sunday. The team qualified based on their performance at the regional tournament at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 7-9. They will now compete in the silver division at the national tournament. The team is ranked number one in the silver division. There are two divisions in the national tournament, gold and silver. At the regional qualifying tournament, the team placed fifth out of 40 teams. There were 15 schools competing, with some schools bringing more than one team. Some teams competing against FAMU were the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, University of Miami, Morris Brown College, and Kennesaw State College, Marrieta, Ga.
