Les épisodes 14 à 16 se trouvent dans X-Force / Cable: Messiah War.Dans les 2 premiers épisodes, Leper Queen fait exploser de pauvres mutants innocents au milieu de pauvres civils innocents. Donald Pierce est un détenu dans l'une des cellules de la base des X-Men et il en profite pour transmettre des informations à Bastion qui tire les ficelles dans les coulisses. Hank McCoy (avec l'aide de l'équipe scientifique) a fabriqué une machine pour envoyer X-Force dans le futur pour sauver Hope. Wolfsbane file le parfait amour avec Hrimhari et ils rêvent d'Asgard. Archangel a de plus en plus de mal a réprimer les pulsions de l'ange de la mort qui sommeille en lui.Après avoir voyagé dans le futur et en être revenu, les membres de X-Force se retrouvent dans des situations encore pires. X-23 est capturée par HAMMER en essayant de sauver Boom-Boom. Elle subit des tortures et des mutilations aux mains de Kimura redoutable ennemie, déjà apparue dans X-23: Target X). Les Géants du Gel (Frost giants) attaquent Wolsfbane (Rahne Sinclair) et Hrimhari. Hellion (Julian Keller) et Surge (Noriko Ashida) ont été retenus par Leper Queen pour servir d'explosif mutant. Caliban guide Eliphas jusqu'à une tombe ayant une longue histoire avec les New Mutants. Domino (Neena Thurman) tient en joue les Stepford Cuckoos avec un gros calibre. X- 23 se bat d'un seul bras (l'autre a été découpé à la tronçonneuse) contre plusieurs escadrons d'agents de HAMMER.Whouah ! Craig Kyle et Christopher Yost se sont lâchés. Les griffes de Wolverine et X-23 découpent et tranchent, les lames d'Archangel transpercent, les couteaux de Warpath charcutent et le flingue de Domino crache la mort. Dans les 2 premiers épisodes ces actes brutaux nagent dans un sang grumeleux grâce à l'infographie pleine de morceaux de Clayton Crain. Dans les 4 autres épisodes, ces mutilations nagent dans un sang très fluide grâce à des illustrations à la précision chirurgicale de Mike Choi et Sonia Oback. La première chose qui saute aux yeux et qui prend à la gorge est que le niveau de violence est monté de plusieurs crans par rapport au tome précédent et que les enjeux sont tous mortels. Les vies humaines ne valent plus rien, et l'espérance de vie des mutants se trouve fortement diminuée. Kyle et Yost ont enfin réussi à trouver le bon ton pour convaincre le lecteur que tout finira mal et que le prix à payer sera astronomique pour tous ceux qui se retrouvent emportés par le tourbillon de cette boucherie.Kyle et Yost ont l'intelligence de ne pas se reposer uniquement sur la violence, ils continuent à utiliser de multiples références (majoritairement secondaires, mais souvent mémorables comme X-Men: The Asgardian Wars) à la continuité des mutants Marvel. Ils ont recours à des infobulles pour rappeler régulièrement le nom des personnages. Ils avancent à grand pas vers Necrosha et ils trouvent aussi le temps de développer le personnage de X-23, de faire référence aux souffrances passées de Warren Worthington et à leurs conséquences, etc. Et ils prennent également le temps de comparer l'attitude des membres de X-Force à des X-Men plus traditionnels pour faire ressortir les enjeux, la pression et les méthodes expéditives de X-Force.En ce qui me concerne j'ai une forte préférence pour les illustrations de Clayton Crain qui a gagné en efficacité et en intensité. Ses dessins sont saturés de textures et de granulosités qui rendent parfaitement l'ambiance glauque et désespérée dans laquelle les membres de X-Force tentent de survivre en tuant tout le monde. Par comparaison, les illustrations très chirurgicales avec des traits très fins de Mike Choi semblent trop propres. Pour autant, les massacres continuent et les dessins montrent clairement le prix en vies humaines, le charcutage, le sang, etc. Et encore une fois, la mise en couleurs de Sonia Oback est parfaitement complémentaire, elle donne la densité et la chair à des dessins qui sinon auraient été très fades.En revoyant le dosage de leurs ingrédients, Yost et Kyle ont trouvé le bon équilibre entre cette débauche de tueries, les souffrances physiques et psychologiques des personnages, l'inéluctabilité de leur destin et une action menée à 100 à l'heure. Well the two-years in the making sequel, Second Comingmakes that look like crap. X-Men: Second Coming finally brings Hope, the young mutant messiah, back into our timeline. At the end of Messiah Complex Cable took the first mutant baby born since M-Day forward into the future to escape danger even though just about every future scenario is super dangerous. Bishop, on a quest to prevent his own apocalyptic future, hunts them down through time.

(MUSIC) BARBARA KLEIN: The Arrowhead 135 is a race held each winter in Minnesota, a north central state on the border with Canada. For two days, the racers ski, bike or run one hundred thirty-five miles, or two hundred seventeen kilometers. They race along a trail from the Canadian border to the finish line in the small town of Tower, Minnesota. Ten people entered the first race in two thousand five. This year was the eighth race and there were one hundred thirty-five starters. 2 The Arrowhead 135 is dangerous. The extreme cold often leads to frostbite injuries. At night the racers go with little or no sleep as they guide themselves through rough conditions in total darkness. But that is all part of the appeal to the men and women who enter the race.     RECENTLY, COLOSSUS AWOKE FROM A DREAM CONTAINING A STARTLING VISION. THE RUBY OF CYTTORAK, THE SOURCE OF THE JUGGERNAUT’S POWERS, HAD RETURNED TO EARTH AND WAS SEEKING A NEW HOST. COLOSSUS, HAVING PREVIOUSLY BEEN A HOST TO THE GEM, FELT ITS CALL. SEEKING TO PREVENT THE RUBY FROM FALLING INTO THE WRONG HANDS, THE X-MEN SET OUT TO FIND IT. ARRIVING AT THE RUINS FROM COLOSSUS’ VISION, THE X-MEN SOUGHT THE RUBY, BUT WERE QUICKLY ATTACKED BY A MASSIVE DEMON, SEEMINGLY CHARGED WITH GUARDING THE GEM. DESPITE HIS PROTESTATIONS, COLOSSUS WAS FORCED TO STAY BEHIND.
