Amravati District Revenue Division Amravati

Skill Development:  To promote skill human resource under Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya Vikas Yogana, a new skill development center was launched by District Collector Shri Abhijit Bangar. 90 youths are taking skill development training at VTP center. Housing for all:  CMRDF as part of data collection have gathered data on housing recruitments in their GP’s. The administration prioritized and approved the construction of houses in all villages. Out of 1107 registered 910 have started construction. Sanitation  In order to create awareness about sanitation and cleanliness, Clean Dream Melghat drive is being implemented across all Gram panchayats of Dharni Block. NSS camps are also being held in GPs to spread awareness about cleanliness. 86 Toilets were constructed in Salai GP through SBM and MGNERGA in 3 days. More than 500 soak pits were constructed across all GPs. This will permanently solve the issue of liquid waste water.

Maharajaswa Abhiyan (Revenue Department)  For the convenience of the villagers Maharajaswa Abhiyan is being implemented in all GPs. More than 600 cast certificates forms, 100 Aadhar and Rashan card forms, 85 Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana froms were submitted in these camps. These documents will help villagers in availing different government schemes.

Education (Schools and Anganwadis)  Rural Development fellow from Berdabalda along with Pratham organized teachers training for activity based education. Teachers and students were benefited from the same. After this activity significance increase in attendance was observed in all schools.  Schools and Anganwadis are being painted with help of local youth. This makes learning more joyful interesting both teachers and students. In few Schools digitalization of class rooms is also being done with the help of VSTF gap funds. Digital Connectivity  Work of JIO tower has neared its completion in Shendola BK.

Challenges :  Language barrier resulting in low people’s participation  Sensitization and awareness about VSTF on all level of bureaucracy for implementation and fast racking of VDP activates.

Yavatmal District Revenue Division Amravati District Yavatmal

Skill Development Department:  311 students have been sent from the district for skill development. Sanitation  A total of 431 toilets were constructed from all the villages of CMRDF’s.  Swachhata Hi Seva campaign conducted in all 22 GP. Also with the initiative of HUL Swachha aadat workshop were arranged in schools.

3 | Page Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation Housing for all (Pakka house)  100 % sanctioning to List B houses under PMAY-G for CMRDF GPs. 470 beneficiaries were identified out of which 320 have started construction of their houses. Nutrition  As mentioned in VDP BALPANGAT is started in all 22 GP as well as the program of kitchen garden also implemented in some villages. Doubling Farm Income/Income generating activities (NO. OF FPO IDENTIFIED)  In Ner block CMRDF of Chikani and Indrathana mobilised the farmers and created each one gat sheti groups.  Villagers from Rohada visited International Agricultural Exhibition held at , with the support of our Rural Development fellow.  Village Social Transformation helped to organize a study tour to ‘Model Village’ of Ralegan Siddhi and Hiware Bazar with the help of Axis Bank Foundation for the villagers of Chincholi Sangam. The villagers were guided by Shri. Anna Hazare & Shri. Popatrao Pawar.  To address the problem of migration and to support rural development, VSTF Fellows helped organize a Skill Development Training at Ralegao where 2 students of Pradhanbori, successfully completed the training & received a job offer.  With the help of krushi vidyan Kendra Mushroom cultivation training was organized in various Gram Panchayats. As a result, and constant followup few Self Help groups have shown interest in starting Mushroom Cultivation as secondary activity.  Our Rural Development fellow played very crucial role in Rashan Distribution in Ganeshwadi GP, which was started after 23 years.

4 | Page Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation Challenges: Water Scarcity – This year the rain fall recorded much lower than expected leads to severe water scarcity directly impacting on development process.

 Unavailability of proper documents like cast certificates, Aadhar card etc.  Agriculture – In Kalamb block the land belong to class -2. The farmers are not the owner of the land they are just cultivator of the land, because of which they cannot apply for various Gov. schemes and remain deprived from development.

Agriculture and Livelihood  With support from our Lead Development Partner Swades Foundation, VSTF rural development fellows were able to provide guidance to the farmers on topics of vegetables plantation, seed selection, insurance as well as respond to their questions at Navghar, district Raigad.  Lead Development partner took lead in providing drip irrigation facility for 100 acres. Rural Development played important role of ensuring community participation.

Jal Yukt Shivar  All VSTF villages have been prioritized under the Jal Yukt Shivar and 4600 soil health cards will be issued.  52 farmers from around Dahegaon Bangla village, were given the knowledge & training of ‘Fish farming’ or as it is popularly called Pisciculture, at their farm ponds, with the help of Rural Development Fellow.

Health  The Rural development fellows catalysed to organise a Free Health Check-up for teenage girls of the village Jambhala. The girls were given health counselling and the much needed awareness about the common health issues.

7 | Page Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation  With the support and constant follow-up Rural development fellows, construction of road starts at Pekalwadi village, dist. Aurangabad. The villagers are happy & delighted as this is a reward for their efforts and commencement of their transformation.

 Our rural development fellows helped in organizing a veterinary health checkup drive for the livestock of villagers of Dinnapur village, on 27th January 2018. During this drive,178 animals were treated for different health issues.

 Our Fellows helped the villagers of Dinnapur, Paithan Taluka, district Aurangabad to avail benefits from the National Rural Drinking Water Program by designing a Work Plan for drinking water security along with sustainability using an integrated approach.

Drinking Water  Water ATM is installed in Potul village which will provide clean (RO purified) 20 Liters of water for Rs. 5. Purified water will significantly reduce number of diseases which were occurring because of unprufied and dirty water.

Wardha District Revenue Division District Wardha

Housing for All (Pucca House)  100 % sanctioning to List B houses under PMAY-G for CMRDF GPs. 328 beneficiaries were identified out of which 301 have started construction of their houses. Initiatives:  Gramsevak Apalya Daari to address the problem of Households  Sanitation: Good morning Club to discourage villagers from open defecation  CMRDF facilitated the production of Sanitary pads business of an SHG.  Tool bank: Currently Small and marginal farmers have to rent the tools and equipment. Providing set of farm equipment to community is a low cost

VSTF along with District administration is planning to setup 10 such tool banks.  Floriculture, sericulture, horticulture and organic farming: Currently majority farmers using traditional crop and are now being motivated to use diversified crop basket and zero budget farming.  Supplementary source of income: Through activities such as Goat farming, Mushroom farming, poultry, milk collection center.  Health and Sanitation: Promotion of Paras Baag(Kitchen garden), disposal of farm waste  For the financial up-liftment & self-employment of rural women, ‘LED Bulbs Production Training’ workshop, aided by Rural Development Fellow, was concluded with women successfully producing LED bulbs at Loni village.  To obtain maximum cultivation from agricultural land, the farmers at Bhidi village, Deoli Tehsil, were made aware of the benefits of Soil testing, on behalf of our Lead Development Partner Mahindra.  Mahindra Samridhi has partnered with Self-help group in Bhidi has opend one stop shop for all farm related needs. Ex. Seeds, Fertilizers and small farm equipment.  To make the educated but unemployed youth self-reliant, VSTF rural development fellow partnered with Bank of for a Free ‘Poultry Training’ workshop for 30 rural youths.

Health and Sanitation:  To Reduce Malnutrition and to promote quality of life activities such as Awareness camps, Health Camps, Kitchen Gardening, Solid Waste Management and RO Units are being promoted. Livelihood:  To develop Entrepreneurship CMRDF have promoted tasks such as Group Farming + Micro irrigation + Market Linkage, Skill Development and empowering SHGs  Fellows arranged for distribution of Water Filters in Zilla Parishad schools & Anganwadis of Radikalam village, district Nandurbar. The financial support was done by implementing the provision under the 14th Finance Commission.

 For the preservation of forest land and water conservation, our fellows facilitated the building of a Vanrai dam with the help of students of the Govt. hostel of grade 9 and 10th in village Khandbara, dist. Nandurbar.

13 | Page Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation  VSTF in partnership with SELCO who has excellent track record of installation and maintenance of Solar Systems, installed solar Power plant to electrify schools and Anganwadis. Youth from the village will be trained to become solar entrepreneur and technicians who will work with SELCO in Nandurbar itself.

 Gram Swachhata Abhiyan was implemented in all 13 GPs  Through PM-Aawas Yojana 233 beneficiaries were identified out of which 219 have completed half of their work.  Gatsheti and its proposal process has been initiated in 4 GP's v.i.z, Kothari, Ambatpalli,Maldugi, Kalinagar

Skill Development  To solve the problem of migration of rural youth to urban areas for jobs, our Rural Development Fellows helped in organizing a 21 days training on electrical devices using solar energy in Gram Panchayat Ambatpalli, district Gadchiroli, along with Unnayan Foundation.  BaLA (Building as a Learning Aid) project is being implemented at all schools and anganwadies, this method aims to maximize the educational value of the school space by using the school building structures (doors, stairs, windows, ceilings) as teaching instruments in such a way making easier and more interactive the learning process.

Village Development Plans  All 5 VDP’s have received approval from Gram Sabha. Revised VDP will be presented for Gram Sabha approval with recommended changes from District collector.  District Collector Chandrapur, CEO Z.P., Dy CEO V.P., Tehsildar, BDO. & LDP Tata Trust visited 6 Gram Panchayats and reviewed works related to drinking water, water, Jalyukt shivar, basic infra & electricity for school and Anganwadi, MGNREGA works, PMAY & Gatsheti etc.  District Mission Council meeting has been conducted and VDPs discussed with Line department heads. Active support from LDP Tata Trusts in VDP creation process. Housing for all:  Under PMAY 98 houses were sanctioned and out of which 91 have started construction, MGNERGA payment being major hurdle. Livelihood  Workshop on micro livelihoods like dairy, goatry, poultry and vegetable growing was held. With help of ATMA back yard poultry is being implemented in few villages. Other initiatives  Disability certificates were distributed to beneficiaries of Maraipatan Gram Panchayat today. Diagnosis camp was held in Chandrapur General Hospital on 9th December. Certificate can be used to obtain benefits of various yojanas and also, reservation for jobs and universities.  Our rural development fellows helped the registered beneficiaries of Maraipatan Gram Panchayat, to get LPG cylinders & stove connections, at Rs.100 per connection under PM Ujjwala Yojana .  Villagers of VSTF Gram Panchayat’s attended the annual Dist. Agri. Mela, Chandrapur. Event was to showcase initiatives by departments in the field of agriculture & livestock. Our hope is to expose farmers to ways in which productivity of their harvest could be increased.

Nanded District Revenue Division Aurangabad District Nanded

SUCCESSES AND ACCOMPLISHMENT  Preparing farmers group in the village and target is to take 100% farmers under these groups and encourage community farming.  Rural Development Fellow visited each household in the village and created awareness among villagers by encouraging them to build toilets.  With the support our Rural development fellow & Sakal’s Tanishka Self-Help women group, the women of Gauri village, Nanded Dist. were enlightened with the knowledge & training of Bangle Making from thread. Self Help group is keen on starting their own business of Bangle making.

 The Tanishka member of Pradhan Sanghvi, dist. Nanded were enlightened with Goat rearing as a secondary occupation, as our Rural Development fellow helped to organize a 1-day camp along with Sakal Foundation guided by Mr.Prashant Kale of Axis Bank Foundation

Parbhani District Revenue Division Aurangabad District Parbhani

 Batch 2: There are total 8 CMRDF in Parbhani. 4 of the 8 GP had GP elections and hence we not able to present the VDP to Gram Sabha  Reliance Foundation conducted a workshop on preparation of VDP  Rural development fellows partnered with Lead Development partner Reliance Foundation to construct Percolation Tanks in the Belwadi village, dist. This will help solve the water issue at Belwadi village.  Our rural development fellows helped 136 families to obtain a Ration Card where they were also made aware of various other government schemes. The families can benefit from these schemes and uplift their lives.

Housing for All  Under housing for all 104 beneficiaries were identified out of which 94 have started construction. The main issue being unavailability of documents required for availing benefit was solved by our Rural Development fellows by organizing various camps at Gram Panchayat. Skill development  Various batches have been initiated for skill development including for courses such as Tally, DTP, Poultry farming among others.  Under PMKVY 7 students were trained and placed in single day in Finolex industries. Other initiatives  Rural development fellow took lead and sensitized villagers with side effects of Gutkha and Tobacco. As an effect complete village has pledged to quite Gutkha and Tobacco. Digital Connectivity  Rural development fellow installed 32” LED TV along with Digital curriculum for students of grade 1 to 4 of the Z.P. School, village Kolpimpri, district Beed. For the uninterrupted power supply, 1 KV solar power plant has also been set up, under the 14th Finance Commission. Library is also being installed to nourish their dreams.
