In 1871, they were located at 14 Broad Street. 3 317 Marietta Demolished 1903 1903-1976 Several moves later, their last house was located at Street 317 Marietta St., at Latimer Street, and built in 1903. Station 3 was closed in 1976 due to budget cuts. The old fire station no longer stands. 3 3500 Peachtree Active 1993 1993 1993-present In 1993, a new station was built for Company 3 to Road NW protect Phipps Plaza. A new demolished hall was built on West Fair Street In 1882, the paid department disbanded Company 4 due to owed debts and did not re-organize until five years later. 4 85-87 North Demolished? 1887 1887-1959 On June 1, 1887, a new Station 4 was placed in Pryor Street service at No. 85-87 North Pryor Street. 4 125 Ellis Street Closed, Still 1959 1959 1959-2001 On April 1, 1959, Station 4 was relocated to new Standing quarters at 125 Ellis Street. Station 4 operates Atlanta’s Haz-mat/Heavy Rescue team Squad 4. It operates: 2006 Spartan E-One 2006 Ford Expedition as a QIC unit. 5 Marietta & Presumed 1871-? Company 5 was originally chartered October 15, Foundry Street demolished 1871 as Gate City Fire Company No. 5. in a stable Its original quarters were at Marietta & Foundry Street in a stable until suitable quarters were erected. 5 28 E. Foundry Presumed ?-1882 The company moved when a station was built at 28 demolished E. Foundry. Company 5 was disbanded on June 30, 1882 when the city created the paid fire department. 5 44 W. Battalion 4 is also housed at Station 5 and operates a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban Sta Photo Address Building Status Built Opened Service Dates Narrative 6 Connelly and 1879 1879-1882 Company 6 was organized as Blue Eagle Fire Jones Company No. 6, an all-black fire company to protect the Woodward Avenue area on March 28, 1879. It was quartered at Connelly and Jones. When the paid fire department was organized on June 1, 1882, the company was disbanded. 6 39 Boulevard, Closed, Still 1894 1894 1894-1991 On May 31, 1894, Company 6 was reorganized and NE Standing quartered at 39 Boulevard, NE. On March 3, 1991, due to deteriorating building conditions, Engine 6 was relocated to Station Four at 125 Ellis Street NE. An intensive renovation of Station 6 turned the building into the Atlanta Fire Department Museum. 6 309 Edgewood Active 2001 2001 – In April 2001, it was relocated to 309 Edgewood Avenue present Avenue along with Squad Four. It operates a 2001 Quality/Spartan 1500 GPM pumper 7 7 Benjamin Demolished in 1884-1910 Company 7 was placed in service May 31, 1894. It was equipped with seven-story drill tower Atlanta 30310 in rear left corner, and home to the Fire College from 1931 to 1960. The tower was demolished when new training center opened on Claire Drive. 8 176 Carnegie Demolished 1897-1969 Company 8 was created on March 15, 1897, and Way was located at 50 Church Street, later renamed 176 Carnegie Way, in downtown Atlanta. Company 8 was relocated Boulevard NW to 1711 Marietta Boulevard NW at its present site. It operates 2001 Quality/Spartan 1500 GPM pumper. Battalion 2 is also housed at Station 8 and operates a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban. 9 441 Central Presumed 1904-1967 Company 9 was organized on August 4, 1904, at Avenue. demolished 441 Central Avenue. 9 to 3501 MLK Jr. Active 1967 1967 1967-present On June 5, 1967, Company 9 was relocated to 3501 Drive MLK Jr. Drive located in Adamsville. Truck 9 and Rescue 9 operated out of Station 9. Over several years, both were relocated or disbanded leaving only an engine company operating out of the station. It operates a 2001 Quality/Spartan 1500 GPM pumper 10 155 Oakland Presumed 1906-1959 Company 10 was created on March 10, 1906, and Avenue demolished was located at 155 Oakland Avenue. 10 447 Boulevard Active 1959 1959 1959-present On March 23, 1959, the company was relocated to SE 447 Boulevard SE at its present location. It operates: 2001 Quality/Spartan 1500 GPM pumper 2000 AI/Spartan 105-foot aerial. Battalion 5 is also house at Station 10 and operates a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban 11 30 North Ave Still standing 1908-? Station 11 was opened on May 1, 1908 at 30 North NE, Atlanta, Ave. GA. It operated as a double company until it was closed for budget cuts. The building was used as a pub during the 1996 Summer Olympics. After a short closure it has re- opened as a pub.
