Title: Regional Manager

Department: Youth Development

Responsible To: Youth Development Director

Formed in 1888 by its twelve founder members, the EFL () is the world's original league football competition and is the template for leagues the world over. With 72 member Clubs, it is also the largest single body of professional Clubs in European football and is responsible for administering and regulating the Sky Bet EFL, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, as well as reserve and youth football. EFL, through its charity the EFL Trust, also oversees the inspiring work of its 72 Clubs’ community teams, engaging with more than 1.5million people every season.

Our employees work together as an integrated team, under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer. Employees have key objectives to offer the highest standard of service and administration to the Clubs within the EFL; maximise income available through sponsorship, television rights and advertising; and enhance and protect the reputation of the EFL and its competitions both on and off the pitch.

Purpose To support, guide and monitor the operation of EFL Academies, largely within an allocated region.

Main areas of responsibility

1. To provide support and guidance to, and monitoring of, EFL Academies, largely within the allocated region.

2. To support and guide clubs in the preparation for ISO audits.

3. To aid in the production and implementation of a Club’s Action Plan following ISO audit.

4. To undertake appropriate technical, action plan, match observation, and other required assessments at clubs and compile associated reports including the Clubs Seasonal Operational Record document.

5. To ensure clubs are compliant with the rules and regulations of the Academy system.

6. To produce an Annual Report on the efficiency and provision of each Academy.

7. To contribute to and organise regional club meetings and seminars.

8. To help promote and develop “best practice” amongst Academies within EFL clubs.

9. To liaise with other organisations involved in supporting Academies, particularly League Football Education, The and .

10. To act upon any relevant issues identified at clubs within the allocated region.

11. To assist in the organisation and staffing of CPD events, tournaments and festivals as required

12. To be the point of contact for parents raising issues connected to the Youth Development programme

13. To help promote the EFL’s Youth Development programme.

14. To undertake any other duties as required by the line managers.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential Requirements

1. Previous experience of working in a Youth Development environment within the Licenced Football Academy system under the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). 2. Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages. 3. Experience of leading and facilitating meetings. 4. Good communication and presentation skills. 5. Excellent written, telephone and interpersonal skills. 6. Full Driving licence. 7. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Advantageous

1. Knowledge of Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (ASE). 2. Professional Football Club or playing background. 3. Coaching experience. 4. Hold a UEFA A Licence or Advanced Youth Award.
