The event is designed to raise money to help the homeless. A light supper will be provided, slices, tea and coffee. Also theatre games and other entertainment will be on offer during the evening. New brochure about mental health Singleton Mental Health Forum in conjunction with Singleton Mental Health Support Group, One Door and Singleton Council have just published a brochure which outlines the rights of designated carers along with contact information for mental health services available in Singleton. Recent changes to the Mental Health Act allow a consumer to nominate up to two designated carers. However, it is important that people understand the nomination needs to be renewed every year, ensuring designated carers are notified if their relative or loved one is admitted to a mental health facility for treatment, if they fail to return after approved leave or if they are absent from a facility without permission. Forty children plus several carers from Murrurundi and Blandford schools and Murrurundi Pre- School enjoyed singing, clapping, clicking and whistling as well as hearing Murrurundi Library Officer Linda Dawson read the book. Merriwa Library had two groups attend: St Joseph’s Merriwa with 15 children and five adults; Merriwa Pre-School had 17 children and six adults.
