Recent changes to the Mental Health Act allow a consumer to nominate up to two designated carers. However, it is important that people understand the nomination needs to be renewed every year, ensuring designated carers are notifi ed if their relative or loved one is admitted to a mental health facility for treatment, if they fail to return after approved leave or if they are absent from a facility without permission. The publication will be available from Singleton Visitor Information and Enterprise Centre, Singleton Library, Singleton Youth Venue and most medical practices.
