Matsutake Collection Authorization Deschutes, Fremont-Winema, Umpqua, and Willamette National Forests Under the authority of the Forest Supervisor, this document grants the collection, transport and sale of matsutake mushrooms from Oregon Forests including the Deschutes, Fremont-Winema, Umpqua and, and Willamette. This interim change to the matsutake permitting process is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and an effort to maximize social distancing measures to the extent possible. The Deschutes, Fremont-Winema, Umpqua, and Willamette Forests reserve the right to revoke this authorization for noncompliance with its terms and conditions or when revocation is in the public’s interest. Any violations of these conditions may invalidate the authorization and may result in legal action including criminal violations (36 CFR 261.10(L)) and civil damage.
