A Seed to Sow… Spring is here! The tulips are growing taller with each passing day. Robins are preparing their nests and little bunnies are hopping about. Spring is a time for new life, new beginning, and abundant joy. It is no wonder that Easter happens in springtime. Easter is the time to celebrate our new birth through the resurrection of Jesus. Easter is a time for us to renew our journey of active discipleship. Easter is a time to seek the presence of God, ―I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?‖ – Isaiah 43:19. It is no surprise then that at the Easter Sunrise Service Brenda Korinek became a formal member of our congregation. At the 10:00 a.m. service Barb Beck and Brenda Linzmeier also joined our church (Brenda was also baptized!). God is certainly doing a new thing in our congregation and in the lives of these three women! On the 2nd Sunday of Easter we launched our new Sunday Morning schedule with both Traditional and Contemporary worship. Jesus has given us so much joy that one style of worship was not enough to give our praises to God. We had over 150 people between the two services! It is easy to see Inside… that God is at work in our congregation. Glorify Ministry Group Knowing that God is blessing us, we must now ―go forth and multiply.‖ Jesus has given us the task of growing our worship attendance. Items………………1—3 It begins with each of us renewing our commitment to be in worship Educate Ministry Group weekly! News From the Gifts and Memorials Committee The Gifts and Memorial Committee would like to invite you to stop in and the see the new remodeled Family Room next to the Chapel. This room was originally designed as a place for families to meet before weddings, funerals and other special events held in the Chapel. Over the years though, it became more and more of a collecting place for "stuff." All that has changed now, thanks to the memorials given to honor Roy Stark. The room has been redecorated and now provides a safe environment to house the many blueprints associated with our church building. The room also provides an intimate space for small groups to meet, for private counseling sessions, as well as fulfilling its original intent. Please stop by and enjoy this beautiful space! We would also like to announce that memorials given to honor Mitzi Staalson have been used in many ways to encourage Mitzi's love of lifetime learning. Monies have been given to the Youth Fund and we have created an Adult Education Fund to assist in providing the best possible educational materials and resources for our congregation. Hal Just is chairman of the Gifts and Memorial Committee and is happy to receive your ideas for how memorials can be used in the life of our congregation. The Committee maintains a wish list of items that memorials can be used for. If you would like to honor a loved one or celebrate a special event in your life, please consider a gift to the Gifts and Memorial Fund.
