VICE PRESIDENT Jim Culley Lisa Herbert joined Usibelli Coal Mine as Vice President of Public Relations in June 2016. She is PRESIDENT ELECT responsible for developing, implementing and managing the mine’s communication plan and acts as Doug Schrage an ambassador for the mine in the community and with the media. Ms. SECRETARY Herbert also serves as the Executive Director of The Usibelli Founda- Gretchen Gordon tion, the mine’s philanthropic organization that supports charitable TREASURER 501(c)(3) organizations in the state. She is an avid supporter of the military men and a woman stationed in Alaska, and frequently attends the various award receptions and ceremonies. She also participates with the local Air Force Association Chapter, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the Fairbanks North Star Bor- ough Mayor’s Tiger Team. In 2011, she received the “Messer Award” for her commitment to Eielson Air Force Base and Fort Wainwright.

She was born at Langley AFB, Virginia and is married to Master Rotary Club of Fairbanks Sergeant Peter Herbert (retired). I came to Fairbanks in 1999 to play hockey for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. After two season, I was then recruited to play July 20 hockey for the Nanooks just up the road. At the end of my fresh- man year, I started dated a beautiful girl named Kjersten Rings- Nicole Stewart’s birthday tad. Her last name became mine 5 years later and we now have 3 sons, Owen (8), Nolan (6) and Anderson (4). They certainly keep July 23 us busy!
