AFTERGLOW Get dressed up in your most fabulous pyjamas and join us! Starts at 7.30pm.

COMPETITORS – HOW WE CAN SUPPORT THEM Every year we ask you to think about how we can best support those who stand on the Competition stage – how we can show our enthusiasm for their performance without interrupting communication and concentration in the judges’ pit. We want to make sure that the judges are not distracted in any way from their important job!

Once again we are asking people to give thought to this when acknowledging our competitors as they return to the theatre. We also need to be aware of calling out names and greetings from the audience – this can disturb the competitors, particularly when this occurs just as they are about to take the pitch or sing their first note.

It’s important to let our non-Sweet Adelines audience members know these things, as they might not be aware how much that expression of enthusiasm can distract, rather than support us, on stage.

So what can we do? Here are a few points to think about: • Give messages of support before the day of competition. • Make your signs of support more visual than vocal. • Tell your family and friends who come to Competition about ways they can show support. • Make an effort to consider the job of the judges down there in the pit.

Naturally, we do not want to stop the wonderful show of support that we give all our competitors here in Region 34. Rather, let’s consider how we can do that best in the context of Competition. We all want to ensure our competitors have the best possible chance to succeed!

5 | Page MIC TESTING QUARTET Eureka is thrilled and honoured to be your Quartet mic- testers for Convention in Perth this coming May. After a very busy year with families and their chorus, Annette, Anke, Sloane and Annette made the decision to have a break from competing this year and sit back and enjoy the contest. The pressure is off!! For Sloane and Anke it will be their first quartet contest where they can watch, learn from and enjoy - the whole lot! We can’t wait and are SO excited!

We look forward to supporting every quartet that walks across the contest stage on Friday May 19th and want to wish EVERYONE the very best for a fabulous contest.

SOCIAL MEDIA – C’MON EVERYONE! LIKE AND SHARE! We love it when you post and react on our Facebook pages! It's the best way to share the love and show your support and respect in a very visible way. When posting on Facebook (and on our Twitter and Instagram feeds too) remember always to be pleasant and positive, and to Like, React, and share. Use our hashtags too! Why hashtag? Because it’s like a big index that sorts our posts and pics into one place. Here are ours: #sweetadsaust #laughsingshine #region34convention2017 #IamSweetAdelines

Make sure you like and share other choruses’ and quartets’ pages too. It’s one of the easiest ways to boost everyone’s profiles in everyone’s local community. It’s nice to like. 

8 | Page Is there a problem?

Absolutely no recording!

If you have any complaints about anything, please consider sending a private message to our Facebook page rather than posting an angry comment. We’ll always do our best to fix an issue asap (particularly if it’s a biggie like, say, the webcast!) and we are renowned for responding very promptly. It's never helpful to have negativity adding to the stress that everyone will undoubtedly be experiencing; we will be able fix things much more quickly and happily!

Want to post people singing on Facebook Live? Noooooo! Very important … do not record any audio or video during performances. No exceptions! And do not post any video or audio of Massed Sing or any spontaneous performances online. This would be a serious breach of copyright and you could be liable. That goes for Facebook Live of any convention performances too. We will keep trying to work out ways to make this 'legal' but in the meantime, that's a 'no' from us. :-(

Thank you for being a great Facebook friend. Have a great time at Laugh, Sing, Shine! in Perth and we'll see you online!

Unique fabric large tote, shoes bags, messenger bags, ipad bags and riser bags Look out for these one-off fabric/designs in the Harmony |Bazaar Tupperware has been in Australia for over 55 years, and it’s still going very strong. Our grandmothers and mums used it and most of us have fond memories of Tupperware in our homes. The Tupperware story is very interesting, it began in 1938 when Earl Tupper created lightweight, non breakable containers, cups, bowls and plates using a waste product from the oil refining process, polyethylene slag. Earl was so inspired by the secure seal of the paint can lid that he designed the now famous Tupperware airtight seal.

Up until the early ‘50s, Tupperware was only available in hardware and department stores. This changed when Brownie Wise contacted Earl and told him her extraordinary success selling ‘Tupperware’ via home parties, thus the Tupperware Party Plan as we know it today was born and is still hugely successful today. A Tupperware party is being held in the world every 1.3 seconds. Tupperware is sold in over 80 countries.

Our products are ICONIC. They simplify the way we store our food, cook our meals and prepare our food. Who remembers the Shape O or Modula Mates? Still selling strong today!

If you would like to see our latest range or would love to hear MORE about joining this amazing company then please contact me, I will be happy to have a cuppa with you and share some information, no obligation.
