Apologies Donna MacIver, Shirley Shaw, Trish Kennedy, Tracey Cameron 2. Update from A Lottery fund of around £2000 has been granted. Minutes The teapots purchased had loose lids hence they have been refunded. Cups are yet to be bought. Mrs Pleming is to ask Mr Lock to set up the weblinks to primary schools (Lochaline, Ardgour, Strontian, Acharacle, Kilchoan) on parent council website. Links to all primary schools can be set up by Andy Lock. Compost from Becky Dacre is available. Bags are free and can be picked up from the back of the school. Before end of term, feedback on HMI Action Plan and staffing from CMC/LC Norma Young to parents is required. Chris Millar-Craig is making contact with Mrs Young. 3. Maths Vacancy There will be a Maths post advertised (CMC). CMC is not looking for a probationer or a non experienced teacher. There was a discussion about Highland Schools being overstaffed in general. 4. School Website Mrs Pleming asked whether it is possible to maintain the webpage CMC more frequently as photographs can be out of date. Louise Cameron emphasized that “ chatter matter” run by sixth years would be a good addition to Ardnamurchan High School`s website. Teresa Bolton has offered to look over pupils’ suggestions in updating the webpage. 31/05/2013 3 5. Fundraising We want to encourage young people to be more involved in fundraising across all communities and will help to facilitate this. Examples discussed as below: Catherine MacLean is willing to take on the coordination of the fundraiser on Saturday the 4th of May in Morrisons, Fort William. Theresa Bolton suggesting there may be an opportunity of raising TB money on the games day. Some committee members were in favour of a cycle event to CMcL support fundraising. Sponsored cycle in the area - parents would be supportive, pupils’ bicycles needs to be checked. Tim Coldwell could be approached in this matter. Maybe Kilchoan can do a car wash involving the fire brigade?? Andy Tilling is approaching responsible person in Kilchoan. AT Nicki said there are other fundraisers every year. 6. Action Plan Action Plan is now complete. Ready for rolling forward by the end of last term (Easter). 5.9 Parental request for consultation on Celebration of success has been acted on 5.9 National guidance published on Parent Council ownership of parent consultations. Active discussions with Parent Council, Open H.T. Office reinstated (last Monday of every month) 5.9 Self – evaluation calendar – PT staff involved and review discussion (today). 5.9 Pupil council involvement in Improvement planning (Chatter matter – It will not be a blog because it is difficult to manage. It may be live after the Summer. 5.1 Curriculum – changes to S3 underway 1.1. Improvement in Performance -- Monitoring and Tracking 5.1 Curriculum Consistency of planning. There will be deadlines for all staff to update planning phased throughout 2013 – 2014 5.1: curriculum: Literacy group now established, first meeting set. 5.1 Curriculum: Gaelic medium provision development S3 programme now underway. 5.9: Leadership: 2nd staffing “ summit” reviewing over staffing and leadership structure next week. 5.3: role of learning mentors, e- portfolio, PSE and Guidance – review now complete rationale to be written up. 5.9 Self – evaluation – all SMT involved in learning visits – now complete – as well as SALVO (Sharing Assessment Learning Visits Observation). SMT review of key messages for sharing tabled. This information follows through to subsequent learning visits for improvement. 31/05/2013 3 7. Celebration of Celebration of success consultation. success Results of survey were read out.(Small poll, 8 (parents and pupils), 9 staff) LC suggested we should do another survey on Celebration of Success next term because of the poor uptake. Reasons for the low participation were discussed. 8. What else is SQA Exams + Study leave going on ? Transitions events Improvement Planning Annual Professional Review + Working time Agreement Calendar 2013 – 2014 S3 (new S4) Work experience S2 personalisation and choice S3 reporting + Profile, Parents would like information when and CMC which exams are to be expected to be sat by their children. Parents would like clarification on that matter. CMC to check and inform parents Celebration of success. Holland Activities` week Literacy and Numeracy outcomes. Numeracy we are ahead a bit due to what Jemma Calderwood has done . CMC encouraged parents to look at the work in the Maths corridor. New Maths teacher most likely to be appointed in August. A discussion took place on advertising time, video conferencing options for pupils. 9. Duke of Duke of Edinburgh : There will be a meeting in Strontian Tuesday Edinburgh Youth Club at 7 pm with people from Kilmalieu : Volunteering, “ Endurance,… bicycle event , this is about what people need for their expedition.” 10.
