Just ask the youth at Peterson AFB. Kids at the CDC and the RP Lee Youth Center drew on their experiences on the golf course to create a scene of them and their families having fun playing golf at the new Family Golf Course at Peterson AFB. They did so to participate in an art contest to find the top three pieces of art to be used in March- April issue of GOOD STUFF, the bi-monthly newsletter of the 21st Force Support Squadron. The art contest was a way to both celebrate the Month of the Military Child in April and the start of play this year at the new Family Golf Course. All youth who participated each received goody bags containing a certificate for a free round of golf for them and their family on the Family Golf Course, Silver Spruce Golf Course insulated lunch/beverage bag, Golf 4 Kids towel, golf tees, ENT backpacks and piggy banks, gift certificates from Dairy Queen and ITZ, stickers, and candy. In the teen category, Anna won a free, one-hour golf lesson with video because of her creative entry, which is our cover art for this month; Trinity, in the School Age Program category, and Gabrielle, in the CDC category, each won a beginner set of youth golf clubs. Judging the art were Col Chris Crawford, 21SW Commander, Chief Redman, Kayreen Crawford, Laura Hyten, Heather Donnithorne – all key spouses, and Lois Carlock, Mike Grady and Todd Salzman from Ent Federal Credit Union, 2013 sponsor of the Family Golf Course. For information about the Family Golf Course, call Silver Spruce Golf Course at 556-7414. For information about sponsoring an event or program at Peterson AFB, call 556-4977.
