Menelik II Mausoleum: Located in Beata Maryam Church, which was built by Empress Zewditu in 1911, this mausoleum contains the tombs of Menelik II, Empress Taitu, their daughter Empress Zewditu, Princess Tseha ( a daughter of Haile Silasse who died at the age of 22) and Abune Mathias ( the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox church who presided over the coronation of Menelik II).

DAY 7 | Simien | Wed, November 11 Cathedral of St. Mary of Zion: The original church was built by Fasiladas, founder of Gonder, in 1665. After breakfast, head out on a day hike with picnic lunch.
